Grana Padano Cheese (5 pound)

It's been harder and harder to purchase Grana Padano cheese in my local markets, so when I located it on Amazon- just had to buy it. It isn't aged as long as I'm used too, but it is authentic. Fast shipper, arrived well packaged and in great shape. 5lbs may seem like a lot, but it doesn't last long in my house. We cut it into 1 lb. slices and vacuum packaged it. Will keep for months in the refrigerator, if it's not eaten first.

The Grana Padano cheese I received from this company was of excellent quality and taste—a beautiful, fresh cheese nicely wrapped and packaged. With such an big investment in a great quality cheese, I went online to learn the best way to look after cheese. I rewrapped the cheese in parchment paper as soon as I received it to allow it to continue to breath. I then put the cheese in a dedicated vegetable crisper drawer in my fridge. I've recently developed a big interest in making good pasta—I'm sure my new Grana Padano is going to be the star of my pasta dishes. A big thank you to the Alma Gourmet Store.

Fantastic cheese. A word of caution though. Buy this only during the cooler months if you live in an area with triple digit summers. They do a pretty good job of packing it with insulation and a cooler, but it just isn't enough sometimes. Mine arrived with a layer of hot cheese oil coating everything. It cleaned up okay, but I could tell that the outer edges of the wedge had taken on a bit of that translucent discoloration that hard cheeses get when they overheat. Still tastes great and is perfectly edible though. I'm dinging the manufacturer one star for this because they could (theoretically) have packed it with even more cooling measures and then passed the costs on to the customer, which I would gladly have paid.

This is a very good Grana Padano, mild, buttery and nutty. Its just as good as the one we find in Italy, at a very good price.

This cheese is very good quality! We order twice .. the second time it arrived not sealed and damaged and they send us another package to replace it! We will buy again when we run out ! Thank you

The flavor is fantastic and it’s real Grana Padang cheese from Italy. You can’t go wrong if you want the best Grana at a great price!

After a couple of weeks it started to get green mold. Very Expensive loss, very disappointed, very very very Upset. Not even close to DiItalia products, even the cheese we buy at Bj's is of excellent quality.(Oh, and the cheese was still in the "sealed" package).
