This allows you to use your iPod, iPhone, iPad etc with an older type stero system. Works very well coupled with a splitter as I only have one set phono inputs, the sound is good from our old system and it's now been made even better by this lead and allowing us to use our iPod with it.

I bought this as an alternative to a DAC connector.The lead is well made with a nice pinch-release to disconnect.It works nicely and I no longer need to spend the 30 quid on the DACas I could compare the mp3/apple file to the original CD since the drop in quality of source files does not justify any major investment.

I have had of these now and both have only had one channel work played over both speakers so quite like mono so avoid if your an audiophile

Well, I know I'm only a couple of days in but, fingers crossed, all seems to be working as it should. I bought this cable in order to play my iPod through the hi-fi and that is exactly what it is doing. The sound is good and I also have the correct stereo mix not mono as one buyer seems to have suffered. I don't foresee any hiccups with this so on that basis I would highly recommend it.EDIT: Neglected to say that this works quite happily with both my iPod Classic and my wife's iPod Nano. :-)

Got this originally to connect my iPhone to the car stereo if required, which has RCA sockets for iPod etc.A quick test proved this works OK, then tried it in my home stereo yesterday, and with a better chance to listen properly, wondered why everything is in mono. Being handy with the electronics, to cut a long story short I discovered that the wiring in each plug has been reversed, i.e. the ground wires go to the centre pins and the signals to the screens, so that effectively the L-R signals are shorted together! That the iPhone can tolerate this and still produce a reasonable sounding signal (albeit in mono) is impressive in itself.I cut the plugs off (which aren't that marvellous to be honest, very loose fit on every pair of sockets I tried) and soldered on a spare pair I had, this time with the wires the CORRECT way round, works super now.Second small gripe, the retaining clips on the iPod/Phone multi-way plug are extremely strong, making it very tight and invariably resistant to unplugging afterwards. Apart from that it's fine.HTH

Off on a road trip next week and going in a friends car which is a bit basic. I found that he had phono sockets in the glove box so I bought this lead to see if I could run an iPod through them and bingo, it worked.Great piece of kit that I have left in his car so that when we go out we can take our iPods and have some tunes.
