Heavy tamper. Great for paths, slab laying and general heavy jobs.
Brilliant item. Very heavy so you get a good workout. We used it for laying patio slabs. Creates a good flat area and as its a large footprint it doesn't make dents in the substrate.I would advise wearing steel capped boots for obvious reasons! If you are near a neighbour it might be worth mentioning what you are doing as this huts the ground with a large thud.

Does the Job
Probably too big for most domestic jobs.A smaller head is more accurate - this one is too big and it will impact your hands and wrists.Only use this tool on large surface areas without any raises where you cannot catch the sides.It does the job in this context.

Thumping Fun
We produced a nice garden path way with curves with this tool nice and heavy and good coverage. Handle absorbs most of the shocks which helps a lot.

Solid, good size.
Other tampers have a smaller square, and this one is a bit bigger than some others. I'm not sure that it makes that much difference, as this amount of weight combined with being thrust downwards is going to the job whether the square is large or small.Good solid Roughneck quality as usual.

this looks well made I am a litte concerned reading some reviews about the handle now that it appears that its not replaceable but we'l wait and see I will update after some heavy use
