Initially this litter mat was great. We use crystal litter and an automatic litter tray and we were constantly finding bits of litter tracked half way round the house requiring twice daily sweeping. When placed by the litter tray this seemed to catch stray litter very well. I was delighted! Much less sweeping required! We noticed hardly any tracking and the mat was easy to shake out to clean - though I couldn't figure out a way to actually wash it. The colour was unobtrusive and in place it looked neat.My only complaint was that it would have been handy to have a bigger size as the cats sometimes jump out of the tray to the side (though the measurements were clearly listed on the advert).However after a couple of days of use it started shrinking overnight - the kittens took to chewing it (not swallowing the pieces thank goodness!). I found pieces of the litter mat very firmly stuck between their teeth (not an easy task to remove!) and large holes in the mat and round the edges. I would add that the kittens have never been known to chew anything in the past so not sure why they took a fancy to this.I can't blame the litter mat for mischievous kittens hence the four stars. But would not repurchase due to their predisposition to chewing it - perhaps when they are out of their kitten phase. For now it's back to regularly sweeping stray litter.

After reading other reviews and checking out the dimensions, I got the larger version. It was a good choice, it covers more area and catches more sand, but it's not huge.It does the job and is easy to clean, all you have to do is shake it off (I do it on top of the litter tray so that it catches the sand, instead of going outside). Aesthetically, the design and color are nice. I like the detail of the paw on it, it's subtle, so it adds a little detail to it without making it look childish (as so many pet products can tend to do, in my opinion).

Handy to use

This mat arrived in a well packaged box to avoid damage and it was in great condition. The mat itself is good quality and I like that its very soft and spongey for my cats delicate paws! You can see the small threads of plastic built into the mat which help to trap pieces of cat litter off your cats paws rather than it ending up in the carpet.The mat is a good size, covering the bottom and a bit more of a standard large size cat tray. Having had one for a while, I'd say this is maybe enough, but two mats together would be more effective as the mat only covers a couple cat steps from the tray meaning some of the cat litter cat still remain trapped in the paws. However, generally it does a really good job of catching the litter that comes its way. I give it a good shake out every week and it takes a long time until the dust and little particles comes out. Then I disinfect it and hang it out to dry which doesn't take too long either.The reason I wash and disinfect it is my elderly cat sometimes misses the tray and pees on the mat by accident. The mat isnt waterproof and wont protect your floor underneath, so I would use some additional plastic protection under the mat if this is a possible problem.This product is stylish and classy (as classy as cat litter products can be!) and works well. I'd get two if your cat is an enthusiastic digger!

I have now bought two of these mats to cover the area in front of my cats' trays. I bought them as I was getting really fed up of my cats tracking grit through the house whenever they had used their trays.Whilst the mats are not 100% effective, and they do need to be hoovered regularly to maintain their effectiveness, they do catch around 90% of grit and have massively stopped the spread of grit around my house! For this reason I personally think they are a fab buy and have saved me a lot of cleaning up and stress!Personally I think it would be really nice to have a slightly larger size- you certainly couldn't put a litter tray on top of the mat and still have a wide enough perimeter for use (which is ideally what I would have liked to have been able to do).

Material is flexible enough so that it won't tear apart / break when you need to move it or lift it up for maintenance. Durability still under observation, so far so good.They really do trap a lot of cat litter / sand in them (as it should), so it does take a small effort to clean it out to a satisfactory level. It would, of course, take great lengths to completely clean it through out.These types of mats can be overpriced, so make sure you've shopped around before deciding which one to buy.I have three of these (so that all sides of the litter tray is covered) , and would recommend them to others.

When I saw this one for such a low price I was sceptical but it seemed to have good reviews so gave it a shot. This blew away all my expectations for the price. I would always wake up to find litter spread out across the entire flat and I would have to sweep it up. I knew that these kind of mats existed but were usually between £30-50. About 95% of the litter was caught by this mat and only two pieces had made it beyond that but even those were lying just next to the mat. I highly recommend this mat if you have litter tracking problems.

This does pretty well at catching a lot of the stray cat litter that escapes the tray, which you can then shake out. As a result, it stops quite so much spread of that stray litter, even tho the boxes we use have edge-catchers. With a medium size tray, there's a couple of cm all round to catch this - but if you're using this for cats and older (6mo+ kittens) you can guarantee it can't catch it all. Much better than having no mat at all tho and several of the smoother-surfaced ones out there.
