Best by far ergonomic mouse, have 2
I love this mouse and the Kinesis products...this mouse solved some wrist problems I was having. I bought one for home and one for work and use them on different hands. I love the way this is designed as it trains you to reduce the strain on the wrist and hand...the movement is the natural movement we do say to write and any other precision hand work and it leverages the muscles we have precision with in the hand, not in the wrist and arm. To me this is definite ergonomic mouse, I have tried others but when I saw this one, I knew it was it and it is.

Mouse wheel broke in the first month
I wanted to like this mouse. It's ambidexterous, wired, ergonomic, and from a well-known company. But it doesn't hold up.I'm writing this because the scroll wheel "click" mechanism just died on my still-new, not a month old mouse. Is this a defective unit? Guess I'll find out. Not feeling too happy with this purchase right now.UPDATE: The replacement arrived from Amazon today! It was used, but sold as new.(the wire in the package wasn't bundled, and the finish on the buttons showed wear)Adding photos from all this nonsense. Both are going back, I'm getting a refund, and my review is going from 2* to 1.

DXT ambidextrous mouse,
I bought this mouse because I had some pain and numbness in my fingers and wrist and wanted to do something before this condition got worse.I first tried two different bulky ergonomic mice that helped a bit but really didn't do the job.The DXT took about an hour or so to get used to but once you get the hang of it, it works really well, easy and very precise.I am ambidextrous and one of my requirements was a mouse that could be used by either hand, this mouse makes it easy. The mouse is the best I have ever used, just change hands and press a button, that's it. It even comes with a small UBS extension that I use for the other side of my computer. One minor improvement I would recommend for the future is a more flexible USB cord, however, this is really minor.I would also like to see a wireless version offered.it is certainly worth every penny, I liked it so much that I bought a second one for home use.

Extremely comfortable; terrible build quality for the price.
I bought mine a little over three years ago (out of warranty now) when it cost $90+. I LOVE this mouse, but I'm frustrated that it's not working well just three years later. I think there is an issue with one of the buttons because it registers phantom clicks and won't stay "clicked" while I hold it... which causes a lot of frustrating issues when dragging and dropping. The build quality is not great, especially for a mouse that costs this much.I've read reviews where people didn't like this mouse because they said it was "too small", and they had "nowhere to put their pinky" -- they had to rest their pinky finger on their desk. I looked at other vertical mice and saw what they meant -- I think some people want a vertical mouse that they hold with their whole hand. This is not that mouse. This mouse is held similar to how you hold a pencil. From the Kinesis website:"Unlike other vertical mice, the DXT 2 is grasped like a pen in the “precision” grip which engages the small muscles and joints of the fingers (as opposed to large muscle groups of the shoulder). These smaller muscles are ideal for mousing because they are better adapted for finer, precise movements."That's the best description I've seen for this mouse. Now that I've used it for three years, I really can't use other mice. As soon as I start using a "traditional" mouse, I can feel my wrist straining. As unhappy as I am with the build quality, I'm just going to keep buying then when they break. I don't know what I'll do if they ever stop making it.

Super Ergonomic Mouse, once you adjust
I Love this mouse. I dropped a star because the first one I purchased (from the DXT website) lasted about 9 months and for the money, I wanted at least 2 years. I next purchased an Anker vertical mouse, much less expensive and I could throw it out if it went bad too soon. Unfortunately I developed pain in my hand which was the reason I bought the original DXT mouse. Next I bought a HandShoe mouse. It really did feel comfortable, but lacked the precision movements I needed for my work. Soooooooooo, I am getting a second DXT. It allows very precise movements and, during the time it worked, relieved the issues with my mouse hand. It does take some getting used to, but the incredibly light, stylus vertical design was quite comfortable and super precise.. Let's hope this one lasts a while longer, but even if it does not, I will get another when the time comes. It really is that good.Update 5/12/2015 - I emailed and received a response from CityErgonomics tech support in less than 24 hoursI gave the details of my issues with the IOGEAR KVM switch and my DXT wired mouse. He researched my product via the serial number and said that there were known issues with the wired mouse and the IOGEAR KVM but the wireless version played well with the KVM. I was offered a replacement wireless mouse for the cost of the return postage. ($8.00) I prefer wired mice (I come from the school of thought that considers wires a plus for the stability of connections) so I will keep this bad boy and try a wired one when this one develops issues (as ALL electronic devices eventually do) Looking back, my issues with the 1st DXT mouse (also wired) were probably due to the KVM rather than the mouse. Even at that time, the mouse worked well connected directly to the computer.Pro's - Light, ambidextrous (although I am not), very precise movement, Buttons were very responsive, feels solidly built, controlled by slight finger movements rather than the wrist and forearm.Con's If you are using a KVM, do your research - ask an Amazon question on the compatibly of both versions of the mouse. - or email the tech support at CityErgonomics and see what they have to say. :)It will take some adjustment to use this mouse, but it is well worth it.
