Excellent low-cost secondary glazing solution.
The media could not be loaded. I live in a very old and large Victorian family home, that I am slowly modernising. The house has a lot of original features, that I am gradually replacing. Unfortunately, due to the costs of replacing all of the single glazed windows for double glazed ones, is prohibitive, and it means that I have to do it in 2 stages. For those single glazed windows which remain, I needed to ensure that they were made draught proof to keep the cold out this Autumn and Winter. I've used this type of film before and it does its job well to restrict draughts and cold air entering the house. I compared and contrasted the difference before and after adding the film and the differences were stark. Of course, it's not as good as double glazing, but it has made those rooms with single glazing much warmer. Heat is also retained in those rooms for longer. This is a cost-effective way of keeping your home warm in Winter. If you are on a budget, then it is the best solution for you. Hopefully next year, I will complete Phase 2, so all my windows will be fully double glazed. For the time being, I am grateful to have this solution available to me.I bought two packs and they adequately covered my main TV room. Although the double sided sticky tape ran out, I purchased some from a local hardware store. In terms of applying it to the windows, it is advisable to measure carefully and to have the assistance of another person. Firstly clean around the window, to ensure there is no dust or other impurities. Secondly, take the double-sided sticky tape and apply it all around the window frame. Then peel off the protective layer so it is ready for the film to be affixed to it. Take the film and line it up carefully so that there is enough to cover the frame. Then simply cut off any excess. The final step involves taking a hairdryer and then removing any bubbles or creases. Once this step is complete you should be left with a taut and tight finish and a completely flat surface. It may not have the same clarity as looking out of a window, but I bought it for its form and functionality. All things considered, I am very happy with this purchase and if required will purchase again. Any condensation I used to get on the single glazed window before has all but disappeared and also doesn't appear on the film. From past experience, once the film is up it should last at least 2 years. Even if you rip it accidentally or it doesn't work the first time, the cost is not prohibitive and you can purchase another one for just £ 2.65.

Value for Money
PMS Weather Shield Window Insulation KIT in OPP Bag came with little packaging but it's all plastic. We used this for the first time and I did struggle to put it up. Once it is put up it is difficult to open the window. I needed to take help from my husband as I could not manage alone. After it was put up it kept the cold out and kept the room wall. It is a cheap solution in keeping the cold out; rather than change the window immediately. It works well the only problem is it not a one person job;and it if you are sure of not opening the window for the entire winter. The other solution is the putting up the static screen which sticks to the glass itself and can be removed and fixed again but is double the cost.I would recommend PMS Weather Shied Window Insulation Kit as it is worth the price to keep a room warm.

Product works, but not enough tape.
I've used this stuff before and it's relatively easy to put up. This product works fine, but there was only enough double sided tape to do one and half windows. (The window panes are about three foot by a foot wide.) I had to get more double sided tape from a stationary shop to complete the job. Once up though, it does completely stop condensation forming on the glass.

Best invention ever.
So it was a bit aquard to get it in place to start but what a difference. Draft went down to 0 immediately. Saved loads on heating bills. I'll be buying every year. Obviously you can't open the windows when it's on so I removed it for the summer. The hairdryer had the creases out withing a few minutes and I could see out no problem. A must for drafty windows. It sticks really well. Is a pest to remove the sticky stuff when it's off but worth it. If you have big windows it's best to get something to stand on at both ends. Make sure the sticky bit is right round the windows edge and stick it on side by side. Easy as pie. Genius invention.

non-adherence problem (to both wooden frame and glass)
Didn't get on with this product at all. Tried covering the individual panes of my Victorian sash window. With the use of a hairdryer, the film and tape blows off and the film crumples on itself and clumps at the edges rather than sticking to the window glass. Not sure if it's just this one or whether it is the same across the board for different brands of window insulation films. (Perhaps use your own stronger tape?) Very frustrating especially after carefully cutting the pieces to the right size and carefully setting them in place....only to be destroyed every time the hairdryer is blown on the film. However, the product was delivered intact and within the time frame. That was the positive aspect of ordering this kit. (And that the window got a thorough clean as a result of attempting to use it.)------revision of review: I tried the remaining piece on an aluminium framed window - Tape did secure well to it, not as fiddly to work on a larger area. As for the film - must be careful with the heat....i left the hairdryer on one area a bit too long and burned 2 holes in it. What I only just found out (and not clear from instructions) was that the film is not meant to cling onto the glass - didn't work on this aluminium-framed window because the frame lies about as flat as the glass, hence it was not possible to have an air gap. So it may work on certain types of windows but not all.

Noticed the difference right away
Ok I was skeptic about this product but it was mentioned by the NHS on Google news so I said I'd try it and I noticed a difference straight away. For the price, you can't go wrong. Highly recommend this great item.

Great double glazing
Great product. Be patient putting it up as can be a bit fiddly but so worth it. You can see the creases coming out as you blow dry it with hair dryer (although obviously it's not wet) works well and you wouldn't even know it's there
