Best at-home hair dye
Really easy to use, doesn't drip & doesn't have the horrible ammonia smell. Covers greys really well (they will always be a slightly different colour to the rest on dark hair!) and doesn't fade as much as others. It does give a lovely, shiny, natural looking colour. It does go on a little darker than I expect, however, it lightens after a couple of washes.I have really long, fine hair & 1 box is more than enough for me.Only thing I don't like is the conditioner - it works OK & smells lovely, but I don't think it conditions any where near as well as my usual one, and then I end up with a tube I don't want - would be nice to have the option to not have it

Fun experimenting in lockdown!
This was the first time I dyed my hair and I made the brave decision to do it myself (as I was bored during Lockdown). It was really simple, easy to mix and apply on the hair. It comes with the instructions and you can just follow that.I actually wanted a subtle balayage finish and therefore didn’t use the bottle provided. I instead had a mixing bowl and a brush and cut up some foil to replicate what they do at salons. There’s a lot of YouTube videos that you can find that do just that. I watched a lot of different ones, and for my hair type before doing it myself. I definitely recommend checking them out if your not experienced in dying your hair.As for the result, I was quite happy. Firstly because I have very dark brown hair (almost looks black), it’s the darkest shade you can have, so I knew seeing any colour without bleach/lightning would be close to impossible. I therefore just wanted to experiment with a colour that was very bright and just on the ends of my hair. (So if it did look awful I could just chop the ends off). The first time I attempted it, the colour came out brown, and looked lighter in some shades of light but it was difficult to catch on camera. Sometimes there was shades of red and purple. It basically changed everyday, getting lighter.I wanted to see more result and therefore bought another box, and repeated the process. This time the result was noticeable in any light. I achieved a brown/ginger red tone to my ends. I was happy with this, the technique I used also made sure it was a gradual blend upwards so it didn’t look bad.I also have curly/wavy, hair so it’s easier to cover up mistakes then on straight hair.My hair is thick so I needed more product and bought more boxes. I used three in total, two in on go and one just by itself. The second time I left it longer than recommended and that worked on my hair a lot better.I think it’s best to just rinse and dry one piece of hair and see if the colours shows as you want it, if not then leave it for longer.I also wanted to really experiment with this colour and see what it would look like on my roots (I definitely don’t recommend anyone to try this), but I ended up with hot roots. (It’s not the fault of the product, but just something I wanted to try to see how the colour would look on me if I had lighter hair).I’ve bought this brought in 5.3 in golden brown too, to complete the balayage look. (It was the same price at Tesco). In all I’m very happy with the product and the experimenting was fun.Pros:- No smell of dye- Easy application- Quick results- Lots of colours to pick from- Good price- Decent size (unless u have long thick hair, you’ll need more).- Long lasting colourCons:- My hair became very dry gradually. You have to keep on top of conditioning your hair and use hair serums and oils to keep the smoothness. I have frizzy hair and I needed to do more caring for my hair afterwards. Although the immediate result will give you very smooth shiny hair, after 5-6 washes it became dry. There is however enough conditioner to last you a while. Just don’t forget to use it.- ALERT: Does not cover greys ! (I have a couple greys it did not cover them, it did however colour my brown hair).

Natural color, odorless
It did its purpose. It covered most of the grey hair within 30minutes. It gave the natural dark brown color. The dye was pleasantly odorless, with no harsh ammonia scent

Beautiful colour and so soft
Love the colour, great cover for blond, my hair was dark brown which I bleached and it was still slightly orange after toner which this didn't cover but does warn off that in description, I'm going to get my hair cut anyway so very glad I bought this

Good quality hair dye
Very good quality colour which provides adequate cover and a lovely tone. I do find the colour darker than expected but that may be down to the quality of my hair and I am sure over time this will fade down. I have shoulder length hair and had to buy two boxes for sufficient coverage but this provided an even more coated application. Highly recommend this product and will buy again in the future

Not bad but there are some cons...
I wanted to write some of the pros and cons of this product so it helps others make an informed decision:Pros• It lifts darkest brown hair quite well given it doesn’t use bleach. I was impressed that my darkest brown hair was ever so slightly lighter and without a hue of red.• I had a balayage treatment done which, because of lockdown, I haven’t been able to tone. I applied this dye over the reddish/brassy highlights and it muted the tone fairly well. I wouldn’t say it removes the reddish/brassy tone entirely but it definitely mutes it and make it more of a golden brown which is a much more appealing colour.Cons• I found the substance quite difficult to apply and my hair would get easily tangled. I would advise using a comb when applying to ensure even application. Don’t massage it as per the instructions as hair gets tangled and actually I was worried about damaging my hair or having uneven coverage. Comb is gently through and take your time.• This notes 100% grey coverage but that’s not true at all. I would say 50% of greys were covered. I left the product on for 30 minutes and was wary to leave it on longer in case my hair got damaged. It would either need another dye session or to be left on longer.OverallOverall this is good value for money. And for a box dye it helped me feel a bit more “normal” given I don’t have a hair dresser. The main flaw is the grey coverage which was the main reason I bought this product. I would probably buy it again as my hair feels soft (not damaged at all) and maybe one more round could have 100% results. But I’ll wait a couple weeks before doing so.

The product exactly matches the description. Very satisfied with my purchase.
How to dye your hair at home with Garnier Olia No Ammonia Permanent Hair Dye: Always do a patch test 48 hours in advance of using any home hair dye products. Please always refer to the product for full safety instructions. Top tips for home hair dye: Use an old towel as permanent hair dye may stain it. Apply moisturising cream to your hairline to avoid staining from the permanent hair dye. Hair Dye can only lighten your natural hair colour 1 to 2 levels – check the back of pack to see if it is the right hair colour shade for you. If you have long or thick hair, use two hair dye boxes. 1. Start by putting on gloves and instantly mix the colour cream and the developer cream in the applicator bottle. Shake well to mix. 2. Apply the mix in sections, starting with your roots and working through to the ends 3. Leave to develop for up to 45 minutes, as stated on the instructions, depending on the result you wish to achieve. 4. Rinse until the water runs clear and apply the silk and shine conditioner and rinse again.
Box Contains
1 tube colour crème with a velvety texture and subtle floral fragrance, 1 tube developer cream, 1 applicator bottle, 1 tube of the silk and shine multi-application conditioner, 1 pair of gloves and 1 instruction leaflet
