Its not smelly goat leather and love the vintage aesthetics
Im absolutely in live with the style, its the perfect size and the color is beautiful. A little stiff but Im okay with it. The strap could have been a bit better quality wise and the inner small compartments and loops could use some fabric lining cos theres fuzz from it.If the latter suggestions could be taken care of, it would be the perfect bag for me. But I still love it <3

The Oldest and Most Versitale of Accesories Up-To-Date
A generous padded notebook sleeve and a few general side pockets are enough to keep your edc stuff out of the way of using this as a "proper satchel" as mine was called. The leather is tough both in sense of durability and in the sense of stiffness. It takes breaking-in and conditioning so if you're new to leather care, look up some pointers while you wait on it to arrive.

thick sturdy leather, accurate stitching,
I like the briefcase. I will use it to hold my 10.4 inch tablet and 3 smartphones + diabetic supplies. The case is well-made for sure. I'm very pleased. The leather is somewhat stiff/thick enabling it to last for a number of years. My review is 100% contrary to the negative reviews I read. After 2 days, there was 0 odor. Even during the first day, the odor was minimal. Also, the stitching is perfect. The color is an attractive deep brown.

mixed bag
I have a much larger bag manufactured very similar to this so I kinda knew what I was getting into. The leather won't be perfect; the leather will be thin; it smells a little weird for a bit, etc. My other bag has aged nicely and is much handsomer than when I first got it, so I anticipate this one will also look nicer as it wears. I get so many compliments on my larger bag! This one has the same hardware and style, etc. I like the "adventure bag" aesthetic. It does benefit from some good leather conditioner when you first get it.The bag arrived as expected. The measurements listed are external measurements. The internal measurements for the main compartment are about 10.25" x 8.5" and about 2.5" deep. This just barely fits the item I need it to fit. I don't want to size up so it will just have to be snug. The main thing that bugs me about this bag is the snap fasteners on the main flap and the small front pocket are placed such that the bag/pocket cannot be snapped closed when it is full. There is no allowance. If you put anything bigger than a pack of gum in that small front pocket, you can't snap it shut. Likewise, if you have the main bag loaded full, the magnetic snap won't be in the right place to catch. Which leaves you with the buckle strap to hold the flap down and keep it contained. Not ideal. The main compartment is lined with stiff green canvas. There is no soft padding so if you want to keep a tablet in there I would recommend a padded case. There is one main compartment, two canvas "dividers" (one on the frontside, one on the backside) to keep thin items like papers separate from the main compartment, and then two zipper compartments the width of the purse (10.25") that would also be good for thin items. The only compartment that can hold anything of decent thickness is the main compartment (2.5" wide). You might be able to fit a tablet in one of those thin divided sections if it is a smaller tablet and in a slim case. But anything thicker than about .5" will have to go in the main compartment.I debated sending this back but I am deciding to keep it. I like the look of the angled front flap and the design should suit my purposes. The construction is a little bit sloppy (some glue residue, the placement of the snaps), but I was not expecting perfection. All the rivets and stitching seem sturdy. I also know my other bag has aged nicely and have hopes this one will do the same.Amusing fact: the writing on the small pocket snap says "Great Seal of the State of Oklahoma 1907"

Like the look but too much maintenance...
I REALLY like the way this bag looks. It is genuine leather and very durable. It was a little thinner leather than what I was expecting but I think that is because I'm not as familiar w/ goat leather. It's the real deal tho. I'm a smaller person and had to have the strap on the last hole...problem is, this bag does not come w/ a leather loop to keep the excess strap in place so it was flopping all around on my chest. I didn't like that. Contacted seller and they said I could find a loop at my local leather shop. I feel that if I'm going to pay almost $70 for a bag, I shouldn't have to take the time and go shopping around for that leather loop. Also, when it arrived it had some yucky glue stuff on the buckle areas and on the snap. I had to wipe it down. As far as the smell, I understand what people are saying about the smell but it is goat leather. The power of the smell will die down after a while. I aired my bag out for a couple of days b/f I had decided to return it and it seemed to be going away. It's real leather so what are you going to do about it I guess. I probably prefer the smell of cow leather. This stuff kind of smelled like the goat was still in the barn or something. Anyway, as much as I wish I could've kept the bag, I felt it was too much maintenance for the money so I returned it. Oh - and one other thing I did like about the bag was there is a little bit of padding on the inside sleeves so I felt it protected my laptop decently. But anyway, back to the drawing board...the hunt continues for the perfect messenger bag for me.

Timeless Messenger Bag
Love it. Fits my MacBook Air 13 inch nice and snug. The leather is already relaxing to allow the laptop to fit better. Smells fantastic, like a new saddle. Looks even better! Very unique leather that already has a personality and presence. I think I spent more on than I did! I love that the flap buckles. The buckle strap is supple and easy to use. The buckle gives me piece of mind that someone will have to work a tiny bit to get to my MacBook. I'm a female and I adore how this looks. It's unisex because of the antique look and feel of the design. This could have survived the Wild West.
