It’s just okay; pricey for what you get
This is my first knife from Otter-Messer and I’m disappointed. I’m frustrated with the inconsistency in quality with Case knives and GEC is currently unobtainable. I was really hoping that this would be a quality knife.I do like the pattern of knife and think they nailed the dimensions. It turns out that the blade is a carbon steel as it took a patina; personally I like this look. The blade grind is pretty even and it’s edge retention is fine for light edc use. Definitely strops well and easy to touch up on ceramic rods. The down side is the construction and finishing. The blade is so off center it’s almost touching the liner. Large gaps between the liner and back spring; I tried to capture this in a photo holding the knife in front of a lamp. All edges of the liners were sharp and unfinished, even between wood and steel. The wood scales sit slightly lower than the liners and these edges were actually sharp enough to cut my hand wile holding it. I was able to smooth things out with sandpaper and it’s now quite useable. For the price I figured at worst it would be like a dud Case knife; but I’ve never had a Case that was so poorly finished. I’ve had Case knives that were assembled much worse or had really bad grinds, but never feeling so unfinished. This feels like a $20 knife; I would not buy it again at this price. That honestly saddens me; I was really hoping to have found a decent brand of traditional slipjoint knives.

Junk.
Terrible fit and finish. Has burrs all over Handle. Action is absolutely horrible. Blade centering I don’t even want to talk about, but I’ve seen skid marks better centered in my underwear.
