Loma Linda Frichik Original – Plant-Based Chicken Alternative, Vegan Protein for Healthy Meals – 12.5 oz Cans (Pack of 8)

I grew up with a family member who was a seventh day, Adventist, so no meat on Saturdays! This product is like a taste of my childhood! However, it is extremely hard to find, as it has been out of stock for almost a year. I’ve even gone so far as to contact the manufacturer directly and last year I was told this would not be in stock until January. So as soon as I saw that they had a case available on Amazon, I HAD buy a full case! These taste great and are a nice plant based product

Great if you are eliminating meat from your diet - pretty good even if you are not. You may just eat it from the can, Or better yet there are many recipes available that are excellent. One that I particularly like is a frichick casserole. This is a rice casserole with mushrooms, onions, and celery chopped in with frichick pieces and then baked in the oven till crispy on top. Absolutely incredible. Like any other dish – It can be relatively boring or absolutely amazing depending on how you use it.

Best vegetarian chicken my husband and I have ever eaten......and we have been vegetarians for over 30 years. I got this first in the large can since they didn't have it in the small cans at the time. I thought we would have problems eating it in a few days and dreaded throwing it out....BUT that was no problem. My husband gobbled it up. He even ate it cold out of the refrigerator.Texture is great and flavor is very adaptable. I got a case of the smaller cans after trying it. The smaller cans are really perfect for two people... or one very hungry person. I did it with a stir fry. I did it with mashed potatoes and green beans. I plan t try making buffalo wings next....Love this product!

We just love this item. It provides a professional and privacy we need for our medical reception check in and out!!

Update: I contacted the manufacturer. They were very responsive. They said the recipe was changed but after receiving customer feedback they have changed it back to the original recipe. They sent me 8 replacement cans with the original taste. I am very happy the good stuff is back. Former Review: "I am so sad to say this is totally different from how frichik used to taste. It's absolutely disgusting now. Does not have the rich gravy and meaty taste anymore. Now all you taste is salt with a bit of sour. Gross. So sad. I bought 8 cans. It's not cheap. What a waste money for something that's inedible. Please bring back the old recipe. Why would they change it?"

Definitely does not taste like chicken or have the texture of chicken, but it is still good food.

I fried mine with onion and other seasoning and ate with fried rice and salad. This product made a great meal.

Loma Linda is a good vegetarian brand. This is my favorite,
