Price is a little scary, but incredible notebook
I have not yet seen the Moleskine's equal in mass-produced notebooks. It would be easy to find a notebook with better cover material and more posh binding, but Moleskine really has nailed high-quality functionality. It is the perfect size, making writing and reading easy while still being nicely portable. It fits in nearly every bag and some large pants pockets (especially cargo pockets), and the soft cover allows it to conform to the shape of your body and helps protect it from tear, crease, and squash damage. Finally, it is beautifully, durably, and practically designed. I am always proud to carry my Moleskine (Makes a wonderful gift, too!) Absolutely worth the investment for the avid journaler or simply one who appreciates fine notebooks.

Great notebook
Love that it lays flat. Really like the B5/XL size, the softcover and that it's thin. I used to buy deconstructed journals but they were twice as thick for the same number of pages. I keep all my journals and the amount of space needed to store them is crazy for my now downsized life. The moleskine will be perfect. This was also a great price.

My favorite
Ran into a counterfeit from Amazon but this is the real thing. I like the graph paper, the envelope in the back, the elastic fits this time (YAY!!!!). I use one about every year. I love this one.

Paper Quality Noticeably Worse - Update: What is that smell?! Update: It broke.
Update 2/19: The bookmark string fell out of the notebook. I will be returning these.Update 2/17 : After trying to use this notebook for a week, I am updating from 3 stars to 2. It took me a week to realize a super powerful detergent smell (think the cheapest powdered laundry soap you can buy) has been filling my office, and it is coming from the top cover of the notebook. Only the top. It came sealed in plastic and didn't have any obvious damage.Original Review 2/9: I've been using Moleskine notebooks and sketchbooks for over 10 years consistently, for personal and professional purposes. I recently bought two new notebooks and noticed immediately the ink printing of the lines is a dark gray instead of the previous light gray. When compared to the 2019 notebook I purchased it is not only darker, the page is also slightly thicker and and has a more rough texture. I'm extremely disappointed in these small changes.I emailed Moleskine directly asking about the changes and they replied "In regards to your inquiry, we apologize for the inconvenience in which you have encountered." and offered no explanation or solution. I would advise spending your money elsewhere.Still a fine notebook if you just need something that looks slick and holds together, but don't expect to receive the same product you've been using in the past, and it may fall apart... and smell bad.

Perfect size to fit my 4x6 leather journal cover!
I bought a 4"X6" Portland Leather Goods journal cover & wanted a high-quality, soft-cover, dotted journal to use in it. This brand/item fit the bill perfectly.[+] Size allows entire journal to remain within covers borders.[+] The soft covers allowed it to easily slide into the snug stitched leather journal holder sleeves.[+] High-quality brand & reputation[+] Well-made :: All the dots line up on each subsequent page (which is super important to this OCD perfectionist)![+/-] Price :: I happened to find mine at a STEAL of a price, but when researching a replacement, all other options were 30% (or more) expensive! Perhaps it was because of the color and/or dotted option (the lined soft-cover pocket journals in black were more in line with what I actually paid). So expect to pay varying amounts (& possibly shipping) depending on size, cover type, line type (dotted, squared, lined, etc.), number of pages, etc. Moleskine apparently does not sell much of an assortment of options unless you're looking for the standard/classic version: 5"x8.25" in size with a hard cover.

Not 8.25" x 5" as advertised
This notebook is actually 8.25" x 5.25" not 8.25" x 5" as advertised, making it too wide for the *WIDE* TN I bought it to go in. I can't get it cut down, either, due to the back pocket. Also, there is significant bleed through with fountain pen ink and ghosting with other inks. The ghosting doesn't bother me, but people pay $15 for a notebook for a reason, and this notebook checks none of the potential boxes to make it worth the money.

Great for Notes
I write notes. Lots of them. I use multiple notebooks at work -- one for each day's tasks, another for the week. Sure, I also use electronic note tools, but I like to write. The daily task book at work is one of those you can find at Staples or Walmart, and is okay, but nothing special. The weekly workbook is a sketchbook from Walmart and has torn up just about every nib of every pen I've tried. Enter the Moleskine for home ...At home, I needed notebooks to write down ideas, quotes and thoughts about several books I'm hoping to publish, so I purchased a few of these Moleskines. I use six colored Sharpie pens because I like color to segregate the different types of notes. The ink -- even from Sharpie pens -- does not bleed through at all. I suppose it might if I let the nib sit still for a length of time, but in normal writing, even with normal pauses, it does not. The pages, though thin, do not show through the printing to the other side enough to be bothersome -- it's there, but even when I turn the page and immediately write on the back, it still doesn't bleed through where lines cross and does not at all make it hard to read. The Moleskines are sewn -- who else makes a notebook that is sewn? Most are glued or wire bound. The Moleskine covers are very sturdy but super flexible -- almost leather like. The pages are inserted so the grain allows the pages to easily bend with the covers. Having the sewn in bookmark ribbon and the closure band are nice touches -- again, what other notebooks come with such features? I didn't think I'd use either, but have come to find both very handy and use them routinely. In short, the Moleskine Notebook's craftsmanship has inspired my notes and complements them well. My notebooks have become invaluable, and I will certainly be buying more of these.
