Worth It? Yes
Installed on a 21 Pro Taco w/KDMaxPro tune. Also I am heavy: decked, RSI SmartCap, roof rack, ROAM cases, etc. For the price and the super low install burden I was very pleased with the result. I do not care about the aesthetic upgrade nor the sound. The pro already has the upgraded exhaust and so the change in overall note to my ears was negligible. The performance change however was instantly recognizable. I would say the change was more profound than even the tune alone but in combination with the tune I think I have officially stopped consideration of regear. There is no more lag off the line and it pulls plenty hard. This is not a wannabe TRX or hot car by any means. But as a family-lander build I am more than satisfied now with the power and response of this little truck. For the investment of about 800 bucks (Tune+TRD CAI i.e. this kit) I believe the combo does approach what you could credibly call 'transformative' without this risk/cost/complexity of touching the drivetrain. She is not a 911 by any means but is now a fun to drive family hauler that confronts the elevation of Colorado with poise, vigor, and what now feels like plenty of headroom where as with stock the opposite was true. As always, YMMV. Good luck.

Difference in sound - not so sure on power
Definitely notice a throatier sound in the 2-3k+ RPM range. Not sure if performance is actually better, or if I'm just more liberally applying the throttle to hear that new and improved sound. Also, it looks cool, and we all know red colored stuff inside the engine bay always add horsepower.

Great product…improved shifting, mileage, performance. Cannot go wrong on this unit.
2021 Tacoma (1031 miles) with common habit of searching and adjusting shift points and a long shift point lag under heavy throttle. The cold air kit smooths this out to a normal normal ride. Engine response is improved and when floored you know you have a v6 is under the hood. Easy to install. The air horn accelerator is soft rubber and can be pushed in to the opening aligned with your air box. Check to make sure you do not push it in to far and check the alignment points on the horn properly fits (No gaps) with your air box. Other kits for sale can make everything worse. I know I tried one before this. TRD unit is made to fit like a glove and improves overall ride.

Fun buy, not a game changer though.
I have a 2016 Tacoma Off Road. The install was pretty straight forward, took about an hour and I just googled to find the PDF instructions which surprisingly do not come with the product.I have had the CAI on for a week now and the following few sentences describe what I've noticed so far. I personally think my Tacoma is shifting a bit better on the low end (emphasis on the BIT). I notice the tourque and noise increases from the product around 3200 rpm and up. Any mpg increase I've hoped for has been negated by the fact I like stepping on the gas more to get to that 3200 mark.Overall, it's just an alright product for 400 bucks. It looks nice in the engine bay and gives minor spec increases. Fun buy if you have the cash for it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No filter
Didn’t come with a filter. That’s crazy for the price it cost. I got a filter with the one I bought from the dealership a few years ago and it didn’t cost as much. Disappointed. Shop around people

TRD
The new TRD Cold Air Intake is easy to install. It looks good on the engine and smoothes out the running of the engine at certain speeds.

Mixed feelings.
I’ve swapped 3 different could air intakes. This is the one that did not drop my gas mileage but kept it leveled. Not sure if it’s worth the money when it comes to “performance” but it sure sounds great on my Tacoma.

It’s not going to make your Tacoma a race car but it’s a nice upgrade.
I like this product. It looks good. Honestly, the installation of a Toyota reusable air filter or a K&N air filter would probably give you as much performance at a cheaper price. You will end up reusing the stock base of the air filter box so the filters are going to be the same dimension. This product along with the throttle body space that I installed have give my truck a little more pep. The fuel mileage has increased per tank more so than per gallon. If you are looking for a little performance increase and a neat looking engine compartment, this product is for you. If you are looking to have an instant speed demon or gas sipping every day driver verses the stock set up, you are going to be disappointed.
