Recipe for making Tofu using soy milk made by soy milk maker (Joyoung)
Because I tried several times for making Tofu pudding and soft tofu using the soy milk made by Joyoung maker, I would like to share my recipe here.For making Tofu pudding:1. One original small cup of dry soybeans (around 80-90g) + 1 liter water to make soy milk by Joyoung machine2. Wait until soy milk cool down to room temperature, filter the soy milk using fine cheesecloth (grade 90)3. Mix 1/2 teaspoon Gypsum with 30ml tap water4. Add the mixture to filtered soy milk and steam for around 10minutes5. Wait for it cooling downFor making soft tofu:Pour Tofu pudding to the tofu press mold and press with heavy item for around half hourThe most important thing is to filter the soy milk through cheesecloth instead of the original Joyoung screen. Aquarium
I use this for my aquarium and my fish look very healthy. I live in the Bay Area and we have really soft water so I have to add gypsum and Epsom salt to make the water hard. Even though Google says goldfish can live in soft water, I find that my fish get really lethargic and prone to sicknesses if I don't harden the water. I was worried that this might be the wrong kind of gypsum or something only to be used in food but it works great. Great value and my fish say thank you.

Great product at a very affordable price but the packaging sucks. Need improvements, always rips in the wrong spots.

Used to make tofu for the first time...
...and it worked! I actually made tofu at home! I was going for a silken tofu, but as you can see in the picture, it came out firmer than what I was aiming for... I also threw away all the pulp (called 'okara'), without realizing it can be made into burger patties!!! what a waste! All part of the learning experience, next time I will do better!

Tastes like drywall.
Happy to discover it tastes just like the drywall did in my step-moms house. Chalky, but with that mineral aftertaste. Mmmmmm, nostalgia.

Not for making Silken or Taho
This product makes “firm” tofu. If you want to make Silken or Taho, you need to use Glucono Delta Lactone (GDL). Different product for different result. I use this for firm tofu and I noticed so many reviews that the user is new to making tofu and is confused about what this particular product is used for, so I thought I’d post this. If you are wanting to make Silken or Taho, you want the Soy America GDL. Happy tofu making!
