NOT APPROPRIATE FOR KIDS
This is NOT for kids!!! My daughters were excited to read the book but the bulimia and self harm topics are NOT APPROPRIATE for young kids. I had to throw away the book.

Compelling, Accurate Volume! Excellent for Parents Looking to Supplement their Child's Knowledge!
It is beyond impossible to tell the story of a life in so few pages ... let alone an extraordinary life. And, yet, this book does such a noble, frank job of discussing all of the complexities of Princess Diana's life.We did get this for our personal children's library. We read this first (to ensure that everything here was accurate and appropriate). We both agreed that this is a well crafted, well curated, well illustrated work. There is a great deal of frankness in the recount, and everything is needed and informative. And, allow me to stress that everything is done is the most delicate and tactful of terms. A trustworthy, honest recount, indeed! This allowed for a more open dialogue in our home about the life of this renowned woman. And, I have noticed that girls return to this volume many times ... bringing more questions our way. For certain, some questions are hard to answer, but we believe in transparency, so we are more than prepared. In this sense, we really love how this book just begins the discussion! We are such fans of this book and this series. There is no doubt that it acts as a way to supplement a child's education. We are lucky to have this in our collection! Such a compelling volume!

GORGEOUS BOOK BUT COMES WITH A SERIOUS TOPIC THAT'S NOT FOR EVERYONE
One of my favorite series of children's books by far. They are so inspiring and educational and fun. The illustrations are top notch. The overall feel of the material used for the cover is lovely. Stand the test of time with little hands.Educational and fun. I was excited to get my hands on the Princess Diana book. To the point sentences but with the ability to learn a little something on each page. Quite easily a great book to inspire little girls....and even little boys.*** SOMETHING WORTH MENTIONING*** This book can be a bit too forward. I believe certain facts mentioned were of a serious nature but with the attempt to make it easy to read and understand for little minds. That is a preference per parent and I am sure not every parent is okay with that. I for one don't censor important topics and this book was only read to a 5 year old loosely, breezing past certain things and using other tidbits to expand on with a light discussion. Didn't pose any issues in that way. I mainly got the book for myself and my collection.

Detail of her bulimia not necessary
We had just received this book and I was reading it to my 5 year old daughter, when halfway through I stopped mid sentence, when it talks about Princess Diana being unhappy, eating all the sweets in the house, and then making herself throw it all up. I was stunned! It was way too much detail for a children’s book, and not something that I felt comfortable teaching my 5 year old daughter about just yet. Plus, it was not necessary. They could have taught about her advocacy for mental health and eating disorders without going into specifics. I don’t want my daughter learning that when she is unhappy she can binge and purge. Due to this, I am returning the book.

Princess Diana
I really enjoy the books in this series and I was delighted to see that there was a new release – this one being on Princess Diana. The book covers the main key points in her life, it doesn’t gloss over her bulimia or the relationship that Charles was having with Camilla when he was married to Diana, it also focuses on her role as a mum, which is the one she cherished above all others, and also her role with charities. The book is well laid out and easy to follow, the only criticism for me is that the illustration of Diana herself doesn’t really look very much like her for me and the image is too generic, it misses her beauty and her eyes and smile that made her so well lovedIt is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!
