7A is great for brassy orange hair!
I love this color for toning my orange, yellow brassy hair. It’s a bit dark at first, but it does fade lighter over time. I applied it on towel dried hair and processed for 10 minutes instead of 20 minutes since ash tones can look very dark. I missed a few spots but, overall, I’m happy with it! I DIY my own highlights so I’m all over the place between level 6-9 lol I might mix 7A and 9NA next time for a level 8 ash.Lastly, If you’re a medium to light blonde, I’d go straight to 9NA or higher. This 7 ash might be too dark for your liking.

Super dark, neutral brown and lasts forever with less damage!
This came out the perfect shade of super dark, neutral brown- exactly what I wanted. Way less hair loss and damage than permanent hair color and it has lasted me every bit as long as well. Perfect price as well, I'll be reordering for sure!

Thick and long lasting coverage!
This is my go to home hair color! Coverage lasts a long time and price is right for me to use in between salon visits! It’s sometimes hard to find online. I stock up when I can as the price is right. Goes on smoothly and doesn’t drip after mixed with developer.

Doesn’t cover my greys well
I’ve searched high and low for the right tone and shade to match my dirty blonde roots & finally found it! This formula is a gentler formulation than permanent dye and a great consistency but the grey coverage is only so so. After about three washes my greys are visible but not exactly prominent. I will continue to use it because I love the ease of use, price point, and color match - it adds depth to my dulling fifty something hair so I don’t feel as washed out looking. Just not sure if the Demi permanent formula is the best option to hide greys if that’s what’s most important to you.

Looks good and lasts long
I can't believe how long this has lasted. It's been months since I used it and I'm still getting compliments on my hair color.

Not worth your time, energy, or money!!
For those who don't want to read a novel (although I suggest you do since I know these were not fully beginner mistakes): Very messy application, color is patchy after thorough application, color lasted worse than a semi permanent dye, lifted roots in a weird wayFor those who want to understand the full issue: This color is a mess in so many ways, the inconsistency between the different colors is insane. I have tried 6g, 7wg, 7rr, and 5rr and I can't say I've been pleased with any of them. The 6g and 7wg are probably the better of the ones I've tried, since they stayed pretty good, but the 7wg faded horribly fast for me. The 6g didn't really budge (I only kept the color for around 2 weeks) and when I bleached my hair (I should have used a color remover but I didn't) my hair turned a nasty orange so be aware of that, that's most likely due to the golden undertones. For the red shades, I know they fade fast because that is the nature of the hair color and molecules but these reds faded too fast, I've used semi permanents that have lasted significantly longer than this. I tried to mix 7wg, 5rr, and 7rr, and got a gorgeous Auburn color but after ONE wash in super cold water, literally all of the color rinsed out. I thought it was maybe my bleached hair that caused the color to not stick (I FILLED the hair beforehand so the starting shade was 1-2 levels lighter than my final goal shade) but even on my healthy roots, the color is gone. Bare in mind I'm not clueless on hair color so I used special sulfate and paraben/ color safe shampoo and that still happened. The application process was also way too messy, this new formula is significantly more liquidy so if you can, use a bottle for application and be prepared to clean up a lot. The color runs a ton but that's to be expected with red shades. Red dye generally does fade faster and run a lot, because of the larger dye molecules, but this was excessive for a demi permanent shade. Lastly, I like to oversaturate my hair and do very small sections so I KNOW I don't miss any spots so with this hair color, I used 2 1/2 tubes of color and the corresponding amount of developer (I measured everything) and did my very small sections and cross checked as I usually do when I apply color. The color came out patchy in some areas and looked like I didn't saturate or section enough, which I know I didn't do. Again, that could be due to my bleached hair and uneven porosity but the patchiness happened in areas other than my "problem area" or super porous area. Also I fully understand 10 volume developer can have some lifting capabilities but now that the color has washed out, my roots are not the same color they were before, which makes this the most bizarre experience I have ever had with a demi permanent color. I've used other brands in the past and my natural color stayed the same but that's not the case with this stuff.I've never gambled before but this hair color truly feels like I did. I've now wasted $35, all of my Sally's rewards, and a lot of time trying to make this stuff work but it never did. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this hair color! If you have light enough natural hair or bleached hair and use semi permanent dye, yes it could wash out fast but compared to this demi permanent color, it would be more worth it since there's no developer, less damage. What ever you do, I would stay away from this garbage.***Final thoughts: This demi permanent color behaves a lot like a semi permanent color (running and fading fast) but in my experience, way worse. Please keep all of these things in mind if you decide to purchase, you are putting developer in your hair, damaging your hair, for a subpar result. I have experience and there's always room to learn, but this was unlike any other color I have used.***

Great for my natural light ash brown hair!
Did exactly what I wanted it to do! I've been growing out previous hair dye for the last year and a half but the ends of my hair have gotten brassier and brassier. My natural hair color is a light ash brown so I wanted to try something affordable that could tone the brassiness out of my hair and so I landed on the 7A toner "medium cool blonde" rather than buying really expensive brunette brass toner hair masks (which were $15-$20+). This worked great at toning the brassiness out of my hair, I think I still have a touch of brassiness but it's still wayyyy less than the before. I will attach a picture showing the before and after, you can clearly see the huge difference!! I went with color 7A bcause after seeing reviews and watching TikTok videos, it seems like these wella colors run a bit darker than what they're marketed as. I couldn't imagine using 7A as a natural or bleached blonde😅
