Southern Ju-87s!
As one of the earliest books in Osprey’s Combat Aircraft series, Ju-87s of North Africa and the Mediterranean deserves to be far better known than it is. It is actually quite a good book. John Weal does a great job weaving together the story of German and Italian Ju-87 units on the Axis’s southern flanks. The book mostly concentrates on the actions before the battle of El Alamein. This makes sense as the Ju-87 was most effective during the early part of the war. As Allied air power increased, the Stuka became much more the hunted than the hunter. A large number of interesting and unique combat accounts are included. Readers get to experience the progress of the war as seen by the various Stuka groups. Areas especially highlighted are the attacks on the aircraft carrier Illustrious, the Yugoslavia and Greek campaigns, the invasion of Crete, North Africa through El Alamein, and the Dodecanese campaign. Overall, Ju-87s of North Africa and the Mediterranean is a very solid and readable book. It, together with Osprey’s two other Ju-87 books, will give readers a great synopsis of the Stuka’s combat history.

Satisfait
Bon ouvrage, court mais concis, répond pleinement à mes attentes. J'y ai trouvé les réponses à certaines questions que je me posais dans le domaine de l'histoire.
