American Sign Language Made Easy for Beginners: A Visual Guide with ASL Signs, Lessons, and Quizzes

I decided to broaden my very limited understanding of American Sign Language, and I am glad I chose this photo based book. The title says it all- it is a really impressive visual resource, simplified, and aimed at the complete beginner. An excellent, intuitive way to learn a surprising amount quickly, and easily. Photos of the signs with notes on the body language and facial expressions is quite good, although the alphabet photos could have been a bit larger or detailed. This book definitely gave me more confidence in understanding an important subject that everyone can benefit from just by knowing the basics.

Comprehensive for new ASL training. I never knew ASL wasn’t word for word and this explains in detail but is easy to understand.

This book is laid out beautifully. If you are teaching an intro to ASL class, this is perfect. If you want to get a jump on an ASL class you are planning to take, this is perfect. There is more info than just how to sign individual signs.
