OtterBox Wireless Power Bank for MagSafe, 5k mAh - White

Used it every day till it fell in the toilet lol. Will buy again soon.

I bought this to use with my iPhone 12, which has MagSafe charging capabilities. It works great! Just snap it to the back of the phone and it charges like magic. It’s only drawback that I can see is that it’s really only good for one charge. I’m sure this was a conscious design decision made to keep the unit small and lightweight.Note that if you have a case on your phone, it needs to be a MagSafe case or this will not work as advertised unless you take the phone out of the case. This is true for any MagSafe charger.Also note that the phone and charger get pretty warm when they’re charging, so putting them in your pocket probably isn’t a great idea.Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase and definitely recommend it to others.

As is expected with Otterbox, the build quality is outstanding. The plastic feels just like otterbox’s other cases with the matte texture plastic and the styling fits in perfectly. The panel edges are all really smooth unlike the no-name 3rd party magsafe batteries you see on Amazon.I really like that this battery has magsafe on the back because I could attach my popsocket magsafe to it! The only problem was the strength of the magsafe that attaches to the phone itself. It would slip and slide on the smooth back of my Otterbox Symmetry case on iPhone 13 Pro.If you have a silicone case like the iPhone 12 Pro in the photos I’ve posted it stops the slip and sliding somewhat but it still slides off if you try to one-hand your phone.On the iPhone 13 pro the battery fits about a millimeter below the camera lip on the Symmetry case. Unfortunate side effect of that is when the battery twists the whole thing pops off. Would not recommend for symmetry case users on iPhone 13.The usb c to c cable it comes with is a bit too short if you like to charge off a wall adapter. I suspect Otterbox expects you to charge via the magsafe on the back.Wireless charging the battery itself takes quite a long time and it gets pretty warm. But it’s really handy if you’re the type of person who wants to just plop their battery on a charger at the end of the day.If the magnets were just a little bit stronger and the magsafe attachment to your phone had a bit of silicone to stop it from slipping around, I’d give a full 5 stars.

I don't know why other companies still haven't come out with their own wireless power bank that can be charged via MagSafe. It's so silly to me that most people still charge their MagSafe power banks using cables LOL. Get this power bank and forget about using any cables at all. I also bought this for my parents. This OtterBox power bank holds the power weeks without losing any charges so you can be certain it will have power when you need it. I have iPhone 15 Pro Max so my battery rarely runs out except for when I'm on trips and this works great when I need it then.

I travel a lot for work which means I am very mobile throughout the day. So I need that extra power bank for my phone. I don’t like carrying a power bank that connects via cable and can get tangled or just looks awkward. I had hoped that this OtterBox MagSafe battery pack was my answer, as I did not want to spend $100 for the official Apple one. This version cost half that and came with a 3000 mAh battery that also connects to your MagSafe iPhone. I took it on a trip across the country and discovered how disappointing an experience it was.The battery does not provide a full charge if my phone is near empty. I knew that coming in and did the research, understood that from a nearly dead battery I was going to get at least 80%. I did not get that, and while trying to do so, this got really warm. From 80% to 100% without being on the iPhone, it still took a few hours to get there, all the time it was warm to the touch. It was annoying because I could not keep it in my pocket. Even having it attached to the iPhone on my belt clip, the MagSafe magnets were not strong enough and any slight impact would cause it to dislodge. I have a silicone thin case from Apple and the magnets were still not strong enough. It’s stated that it would work on a OtterBox Commuter series case, which I tried, and it that was an even worse experience because of the hard slippery case.Unfortunately, this was not a good investment. I didn’t get the power relief I needed and it kept falling off. I think investing in the larger capacity one or getting the official Apple one would be better.

First one I got didn’t work at all. Second one can charge my phone and can be charged by USB or magsafe/Qi but the advertised pass through charging does not work!After four months of light use it died.Contacted OtterBox for a warranty replacement - they said it’s been discontinued and tried to send me a lower capacity 3k charger claiming they have no more 5k. Had to try a different customer service rep who said they have 5k but only white. Fine whatever. Received an EMPTY BOX from them today. WTF. never buy OtterBox they are horrible quality and have horrible service.

This is good! I accidentally got it wet in Galveston & it still works!

I really like this because I can slip it into my pocket if I’m going out with a low charge and then pop it on the back of my iPhone 13pro if needed. It won’t give me a full charge but I don’t need a full charge — just enough to get me through a busy day on the road. I use an ESR case with the MagSafe so it snaps on solidly and its slim size doesn’t interfere with the normal use of the phone.
