Great for monitoring refrigerator/freezer
I have been struggling to find a product that I could use for monitoring our garage frig and freezer (I have one for each). These are perfect. They need to be paired with a hub like a ecowitt GW2000. The hub allows you to see real-time temps or historical temp trending using a phone app or a browser app. In addition, you can set-up alerts with each monitor to send you a message each time a monitoring threshold is exceed. We had the freezer door getting left open, this has been a life saver. The alerts come in the form of an email but it isn’t hard to have those redirected as an SMS through your phone carrier. The service requires no subscription, so you only need to buy the hardware. Unlike other products, the probe will go inside your appliance and the rest of the unit sits outside so you don't need to worry about interference or battery degradation from the cold. The hub supports 8 channels, so you can have multiple other devices from ecowitt. I currently have other indoor and outdoor temp sensors, and I am in the process of adding thier moisture sensors to areas where we want to avoid wet floor surprises. Reliability has been excellent and since this is wi-fi enabled I can check the app anywhere, anytime. As an additional note, if you are looking for an outdoor unit, the units with remote probes don't measure humidity. The units with internal sensors measure both humidity and temperature.

Simple and inexpensive
This works great on my freezer. It ties into a tiny little hub (that's dirt cheap) and can warn me if I've left the freezer door ajar. Plus, it's good insurance in case the freezer ever breaks or there's a power outage. Simple to set up and good range, too.

Great thermometer, small screen
I bought this to replace a digital outdoor thermometer that was 30 years old and finally died. I bought it because it had a long enough sensor lead to put it in a convenient place and still have the sensor outside. However, the screen was too small. So I bought the hub and now I can read the outdoor temperature on my phone and I like that. The sensor works really well. so overall I I’d like it

Might Work With Ambient Weather WS-2000 But.....
I bought this sensor because it looked just like an ambient weather sensor but was a bit less expensive. I knew it was a gamble but I am a tinkerer. Well it would not connect to my WS-2000.I opened it up and compared it to an ambient weather unit. It has several solder pad jumpers. The ambient weather unit had only J8, J10 and J12 jumpered. This sensor had others jumpered.I made the jumper configuration look like the Ambient weather and like magic it works!I am Happy! My picture looks a mess, I have not cleaned the board up yet.

Great little addition to my home automation
I already had the Ecowitt base unit, which is quite a powerhouse at its tiny little size. So I bought 2 of these to give me temperature readings from my pool and hot tub. Couldn't have been easier. Put in batteries, flip some dip switches, Bob's your uncle. Reliable and the batteries last a really long time. I use rechargeable AA batteries, which usually last a little less than disposables. But these batteries are lasting 2 months between charges, which suits me just fine.

Does not connect to GW2000
I purchased this after i received the GW2000 and WS90, hoping to get a sensor in a fish tank. Unfortunately, while the documentation for the GW2000 says that the WN30 is compatible, it would not connect to my weather station. I tried all channels, but nada. I have it probing the tank, but i have to read the temp manually, like a neanderthal.

Accurate instrument
The product arrived quickly and was well protected in transit. This is a remote temperature pro. This device is made to connect to a weather station using standard wireless connection. However this particular unit will standalone and can be used to test temperatures in liquids or in air. I primarily use this to monitor the temperature of my hydroponic system. I don’t have the WeatherStation to use it wirelessly but I just simply look at the display whenever I am near to just make sure that the temperature is where it says it is. This instrument is extremely accurate I tested it against another unit I have and they were both dead on.
