These are excellent watercolors for the price. You can use them as colored pencils directly on the paper and then get them wet. I've noticed that you really have to be gentle otherwise you'll have lines of color that don't lift from the paper. Honestly, I think the better way of using these would be either to use a pallet or wet the pencil directly for maximum pigmentation.These watercolors are also quite a bit different from Arteza's pan watercolors. In the image I provided you can see the difference between the two magentas. The color is still nice, but you need to know that the colors are different.Pros:- Colors are highly pigmented.- Good selection of colors.- They feel sturdy. It doesn't feel like they'll break apart if you use a bit of force.- The colors feel smooth.Cons- You'll need to provide your own storage. These come in just a couple of plastic trays that, while they do hold the pencils securely, are not meant to hold them permanently.- The pigment can be hard to lift if you press too hard into the paper.- The colors don't precisely match similar colors in other Arteza watercolor products.- I wish there were more colors.All in all, these are excellent watercolors for the price. There's a lot to work with if you use them carefully. I just wish there were more colors.

The smell of these were overwhelming when I first opened them. Not wanting to return or throw them out I put them in bag with coffee grounds for a few days. That did the trick. I enjoy the vibrant colors and how well they blend

I love these watercolor pencils because they are full color...no wood. These are much more useful than the regular watercolor pencils.

I've always liked watercolor pencils. I'm absolutely terrible with watercolor, but these pencils can give you the same effect with a little work! I started using watercolor pencils with the brand Caran D'ache, which are amazing 10-star worthy artist quality pencils - but they also cost &40 for a 30 pack! These pencils work *almost* as well right out of the box, and with some trial and error they are very comparable. They are not brittle at all, which is impressive, but being woodless, they are a bit harder in consistency. This is what you have to get used to. Because they are harder, if you press hard, or leave a dark streak, it will not dissolve completely in water and you will have a viable mark.Once you have worn a coloring surface smooth on the pencils, as long as you law down an even patch of color, it will transition to watercolor beautifully. They blend nice, and the pencils themselves don't get sticky or bleed while holding them. If you have some experience with blending normal pencils in regards to transitional pressure, these should give you zero issues. Well worth the price!

Great product would have been great if they were shipped in better packaging like a box or maybe they were old because of the oxidation on the color’s tips. Five of the pencils were broken about an inch down from the tips. Going to use them they still work fine. Just a bit disappointed they arrived slightly damaged.

This is a great idea. I think it will minimize waste. I use them like a pallet.
