Wow sums it up! My first time writing a review because this product is incredible. It has 1/3 tabs for each section; using file folders there are actually 36 file folder names you can see at once. I was skeptical because any other accordion files don't hold file folders very good; they kind of go lopsided and just don't fit well. this one is excellent for papers AND file folders, even hanging folders*. the other reason I was skeptical is because the plastic or metal inclined file holders don't hold a thick file. Not only does each section of the stadium file hold my 36 files but I put a folder in that was over an inch thick and it just slid right in. No problem. Someone suggested unfolding it from the bottom, stretching it out, which I did and it worked perfectly. I replaced 2 inclined file holders that took up a lot of space and everything fit in just this one. it seems heavy duty and I can read every file folder. I combine this with removable file folder labels so I can change file folder names as the different jobs come in. And as an added bonus, the price is now like 1/2 price. I'm definitely buying several more. *I use use Fastab hanging file folders that have the label built in that I also use with the removable labels. you can fit those into this stadium file too making the stadium file a great to do/priority reminder (to do lists don't work for me because they get to be pages & pages long :(

These are lifesavers! They hold A LOT and are sturdy. I followed some advice from another review, for this or a different brand, that suggested before you put any files in to gently stretch open the pleats - perhaps if you don't & cram a big file in, you might tear it. But I've had these on my desk for weeks, the stadium set up means the footprint is relatively small, which is great. I put a LOT in them, constantly pulling out & replacing file folders, taking it home...they've held up perfectly! They've also spaced the 'step ups' very well, I prefer to label my file folders & put them into the slots, I can read all of the labeled tabs, nothing gets hidden in the back. I use these at work, I have one at home for personal files, my husband is a wood worker - I have one for all his equipment manuals and one to organize project plans. Is it wrong to love a Stadium File this much????

This is what it is . It comes flat to open the bottom so it will sit flat you must grab it on the bottom edges and expand not the top as that has the inserts and will not expand it . Then as you fill it it becomes more stable . I loved the catagory labels that come with it I put the ones I use on and then penned in my own on the remaining flaps . A touch pricey for what it is but worth every penny for what it does . Would be nice if it had a flap so it was portable if you want to carry it to the accountant it isn't really made for that . But having it laddered or set up as they call it a stadium file you can see every catagory and find the right place to park your paper easily . Should last a few years easily if you take care of it .. Takes up very little space not like the hanging folder file boxes it is only about a third the size . I am using it for the house and tax receipts as they come in during the year . I will refile in another portable encloseable file what I will need for taxes . I was pleased with this product the first one I bought was mislabled letter size but was really statement size and that was not appropriate . Amazon took the return for free providing me with a pre paid UPS label on their dime for the mistake . Still waiting for them to correct the ad on their site for " Smead Expanding Household File, Multi-indexed (A-Z, Jan.-Dec. and Household), 12 Pockets, Flap and Elastic Cord Closure, Letter Size, Blue (70626)" if you look in the measurements it is not letter size only 9 by 7 inches or statement size . No harm no foul I caught the UPS driver when they were on my street and this one I can use came in two days on prime . It costs $10 to drive to the office supply store so the price worked out especially with the fine customer service from amazon when they handle the transaction . Just remember this is a pure paper product that will come flat and you have to pull it apart on the bottom and top to expand it at first and it will firm as you fill it with items from there . The secret is carefully epanding it from the bottom first then the top not just trying to push it open from the top using the folders which are not attached to the bottom . God Bless .
