1st Cut Timothy Hay, Premium Natural Timothy Grass Hay for Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Chinchillas, High Fiber Rich Food for Small Animal Pets

This is the best Timothy hay I have come across in the past four years that I have been buying hay. The cut is great, and you don’t get all the tiny dust and crumbs that you do with so many others. It also seems sooo much fresher than other hays out there.

Bunnies enjoy this hay. Seems fresh and smells good to me too. I bit pricey to use as the only hay. I mix it in with other brands of Timothy hay. Adding a handful to the hay boxes stretches it. Bunnies get to eat it. I stretch the cost using it in the mix.

I have two guinea pigs. One of them is super picky. But he loved this hay. I hope my search for good hay is over. I tried hays from other brands before. The off brand hays always have dust and my piggies sneeze and develop dust asthma. Brand hays they don't make my piggies sick, but my piggies always eat less.I very rarely right positive reviews. Please keep the same quality. Going forward I will keep this hay handy

I’m okay with this purchase of hay. It is very stiff and dry. I mix it with alfalfa hay. Piggy seems to enjoy it. I don’t feel like you get a lot of the yummy tops of the hay which is kind of a bummer. Also noticed my piggy doesn’t eat the really stuff pieces. Almost twig like. So that is a waste. Box was full to the top. Worth the money.

Freshest, greenest hay I ever saw. The box was packed full of the stuff. Be careful because there is no inner plastic bag. You open the box and the hay is directly in there—most likely to let the air circulate and so it doesn’t get moldy. My Guinea pigs are hay connoisseurs and they go absolutely crazy over this one—it is their absolute favorite brand. They eat it, play in it, burrow in it; it’s just their favorite thing in the world. I like that it has long pieces and plenty of the grassy seedheads that they love to munch on.

I’ve tried many Timothy hay brands for my 4 Guinea pigs. They eat a ton and I used to buy 25lb boxes of a competitor but they have gone up in price and down in quality so I tried out this hay the High Desert brand and it’s very high quality soft hay basically no dust and the 8lb box lasted me over 2 weeks which is way better than the other brands which may weigh more but have less edible hay.Overall it’s the best hay currently for Guinea pigs definitely buy it.

My Dutch bunny is very picky about the freshness of Timothy hay and will actually push it out of his cage. After rejected many other sources, he loved the fresh, green Timothy hay from High Desert, especially second cutting. Unfortunately it was short-lived, the last 3 boxes I have purchased (spending over $90.00 total) have been dusty, yellow straw! Clearly inventory from last year...my bunny hated it! I ended up dumping each box of hay as much around my shrubs. I had hoped that the hay shipped fresh from High Desert through Amazon, but now I think the hay just pull from any Amazon warehouse inventory regardless of how old the hay is. I feel for this small business being misrepresented this way. I hesitate to order a 4th time and not know if it will be green and fresh. I am writing this review so hopefully High Desert will read it and be able to better manage the freshness of their product purchased through Amazon.

I bought this hay to help give my bunny different textures to eat. I mixed it with their 2nd cut and my bunny loves it. When it was delivered, the hay was green and looked good. I put some out, and he sat at the hay bowl for 30 minutes or more eating this hay. I will definitely be ordering more of this hay.
