For the past year, I consistently had an elevated ALT level whenever I had bloodwork done at 3-month intervals. A friend had mentioned trying milk thistle, and I was a bit skeptical, but figured it was worth a shot. Well, just had my bloodwork done, and my ALT level dropped from 34 to 20, and I’m now within normal range (ref range 6-29). I’m assuming it was the milk thistle that helped because that’s really the only thing I changed (and drinking more green tea), since my diet was already pretty healthy. I recommend giving this product a go and see if it helps you out as well!

Maintaining good liver function is critical as we age and so my doctor recommended I take milk thistle--this product seemed to cover everything necessary and I know this brand of vitamins is very often touted. I've had no adverse reactions to the product, so I'm fairly certain it's supplying the nutrients I need.

My dog looked like he had liver cancer when an ultrasound was done. My daughter, who had a dog with bad liver chemistry levels said to try this on 'Toby'. Even though I haven't had another ultrasound, he is much more lively than ever. He is 10 yrs old and appears very healthy. I started this treatment (1 pill a day) over 4 months ago. Obviously, I am very happy with this product. In conclusion, watch what you give your animals in terms of "medication" (poisons) for pest control. These put great strain on the liver.

There may not be a lot of supporting research, but this stuff seems to do the trick! After my dog's lab results revealed elevated ALT, ALP and GGT levels with a steady increase in ALT over time (according to frequent monitoring), I was desperate to find a way to bring them down. I started giving her one of these a day (60 lb dog). That was a little over a year ago. Several months ago she had some bloodwork done and her levels are down in the normal range, with the exception of her GGT being one point above!! This made me ecstatic. I can't prove that the milk thistle did this, but I'd like to believe so.
