Love this for walking the dogs late at night, hiking and other outdoor activities (and I think would be good for doing household work where the lighting is not good). Simple, tough, easy to operate and a very nice bright light. Highly recommended.

Black Diamond seems to make pretty tough lamps (I've left my older Black Diamond headlamps out in the rain and they still work). I like this model because it throws a ton of light and is comfortable to use when jogging. The battery level indicator on this new model is a bonus that I appreciate because it prevents going out for a long walk or run with a dim lamp.

It's the best headlamp I've purchased. It's comfy, bright and easy to use. I bought one for my wife too.

I have used this headlamp In and around the house, outside at night and while kayaking. The adjustable brightness is helpful. I notice I use the wide-angle LED Most often. It’s quick to get to full brightness by double tapping the side of the unit. While kayaking, hi predominantly used the red light under a full moon and could see well. It is also lightweight, adjustable and comfortable when in use. The learning curve is minimal to learn how to switch within the modes, brightness, etc. The build quality is very good. I had an issue with an older model where the battery compartment broke when I replaced the batteries. I don’t see that happening with this model. The only reason I’m giving at four instead of five stars is that the rechargeable battery pack is additional. I didn’t realize that when I initially ordered it, but it did come with Duracell alkaline batteries.

Works quite well, bought with the rechargeable battery, battery seems to last a good amount of time on lower setting, don't really need the higher setting for general use. Low setting is plenty bright, it's easy to switch between modes and last mode is remembered when powering off and back on. Feels like a quality item, has a little heft to it. Band feels solid, too, like it will last. Seems a little pricey, but for the quality, it's worth it.

Great headlamp. Super bright and beam adjusts nicely in intensity and direction. Easy to operate and comfortable.
