Perfect for quickly masking laser materials
I have been after one of these for the better part of a year and a half and was over the moon when this one came up on Amazon. It look a couple weeks to get to me, as it was backordered when I bought it, but it still arrived much faster than originally anticipated.I am a maker/artist who uses a laser cutter, and I use this to apply masking paper to my materials before cutting/engraving. It takes about 30 seconds to do both sides of a board rather than the 10+ minutes it would take me to do it manually by hand. This particular model is able to accommodate 12" wide masking paper which always comes with a 3" internal core. The easier to find roll laminator that is around $200 can only hold a 1" core, which is standard for most heat lamination films. The rollers can be adjusted to allow materials up to 6mm (just shy of 1/4") to pass through, which is perfect for my 3mm acrylic sheets. The machine will function with just one of the rollers loaded, and you can control both how hot (if needed) and how fast the rollers get.For set up, the manufacturer sends along a USB thumb-drive with a six minute video going over how to load your rollers. The clip has Chinese subtitles, but it's easy to follow along even if you can't read them. You'll need a Philips head screwdriver for pretty much everything. There are four black rubber feet that screw into the bottom of the machine, and four blue core plugs that attach to the upper and lower bars. The upper bar will be in the box somewhere, the lower one is zip tied to the machine during shipping. Each of the plugs has a screw that allow you to tighten it to the bar once you've got it on.The one thing I didn't see mentioned in the video is if you need to send through thicker materials (anything thicker than cardstock) like I do, there are two screws on either side of the orange rollers. These hold down a plate of sorts that creates the pressure needed to roll out air bubbles. Slowly loosen the screws in small increments until the rollers can pass your material through without needing a push from you.All in all I am thrilled to have this addition to my studio. It's going to save me loads of time!

Did not arrive functional
Heating element worked, but the feeding system was not properly installed. Easy fix, but the entire machine was also delivered wracked from the factory

It just doesn’t work
To build give yourself at least 35 mins that the machine just doesn’t do the job it supposed to do
