My veterinarian prescribed Sam-e for my dog with liver problems. So I cannot say how this product work's. But his liver is functioning good and the vet is happy with the results.And this product on Amazon has the best price anywhere.

The item was delivered as promised. However, the contents of the capsules were hard as a rock and smelled rotten, even though the expiration date was still three months away.

I bought this for chronic pain in my hip that the doctors haven't been able to diagnose. I had zero faith that it would work. After I'd taken one 400-mg capsule daily in the morning for a month most of my pain was gone. It didn't restore my flexibility, but I'm walking pain free most of the time. If I overdo it, I pay the price, but not for nearly as long as I used to. I can't believe it works, but I'm grateful it does. The only issue I had was an upset stomach the first month or two. It wasn't a deal-breaker, but I had to be prepared for the side effect to happen an hour or so after I ate. That gradually resolved, but it took a while. I'm taking about a third of the recommended dose for arthritis, but I see no reason to take more. It's working fine at this level.

I appreciated the strength. Would be good if they also had 200 &/or 600 mg so dosage needed could be achieved with gradual increase,

...because I bought this product to help with joint pain. It worked fabulously. Within a week, I went from debilitating back pain to almost no back pain. I mowed the yard, cleaned the house, walked forever through a shopping mall - all stuff I had slowly had to stop doing over the past few months due to degenerative disc disease. I felt wonderful, both physically and mentally, and really thought I was doing something that would not only help me manage the pain, but even potentially help me heal my body instead of just masking what's wrong with it.Then on the seventh day, the stomach cramps hit. I'd had a little discomfort each day, even though I made sure to take it on an empty stomach, wait an hour before eating, drink lots of water, etc. But the seventh day was beyond what I can handle on a daily basis. It's as if my stomach filled with air and just kept filling, with no release valve. The pain was horrible - like, can't catch your breath horrible. I was prepared to put up with discomfort, and even pain, if my back pain would just lessen. But I can't do that again.So, if you're one of the ones who escapes the stomach issues, this can work wonders. As for me, I sadly have to stop taking it and continue the search for something natural to help with my pain.

Dr prescribed for sons ADHD... we are treating it with supplements. I believe the recommended this brand. Seems pretty good. Been using for 7+ months now.

I used these for my mood so I am not sure how effective they are for pain. They work great for my mood. People say I am always happy and smiling. That is me and these help bring that part of me alive again. I weaned off of prescription anxiety/depression medication after a long period off stress. I was able to cope but not quite 100% until I tried Sam-e. This is my first time with this brand but I think this brands effect is the best.

This is a terrible product. The capsules do not contain powder--they are firmly formed like little bullets and make a noise if you shake the capsules. Maybe the bottles I ordered were exposed to heat? I don't know, but this seemed awfully strange to me. If they were exposed to heat then according to the manufactuer the ingredients become ineffective. The contents smell strongly and when I did a quick taste on the solid content it tasted awful. I bought two of these to avoid shipping and because it was cheaper than my previous brand. What a mistake. I missed seeing that returns were not allowed. So I am now throwing out approximately $62 of product.
