The media could not be loaded. These vivid sticks go on paper smoothly and look like velvety paint. They do not smudge like oil pastels (see video). There are 2 inches of color on each lovely paint stick. While these are known as "paint sticks," they are used like crayons.Some tips and warnings:• These need to be rolled up like a glue stick in order to start using them, and rolled up again as they flatten from use. Little hands might need some help with that.• Make sure to keep the caps in a safe place, as they do not fit on to the back of the paint stick.• Use a soft touch when coloring. You’ll smoosh the paint if you press hard (see the green swirl in the video).

These are definitely not the most opaque, creamy paint sticks I have ever used, but they layer nicely and create some pretty, somewhat-translucent effects. They are really lovely to hold and work with, to be honest, and I'm all about the tactile feel of art products so these are definitely captivating for me. I would have preferred a set of 24 solid colors (as opposed to the metallics and neons) and a much more opaque white, but I like the longer size of these and the nice color range.

I left these as a surprise for my son in his playroom. He has a lot of art supplies so I thought he might enjoy these and didn't think much of it. My son usually dominates everything he creates with large amounts of black and brown - not really understanding that those colors quickly overwhelm lighter shades. I was surprised when I went in to his room and saw paper after paper of colorful doodles surrounding him - still in his pjs. The colors are a little transparent but they are still vibrant and, clearly, a lot of fun to work with.Unlike markers or paints, he escapes these creative sessions without any mess on his hands. My only wish was that the caps would fit on the back of the stick, but I can survive helping him clean up the caps. I think this is an oversight, but not worth losing a rating star for.The product is great. They work. They don't stink. I don't worry about them being toxic or staining. The company is women-owned so YAY! Buy a set and go rainbow doodle on some posters!

My five year old absolutely loves these, and I do too. They give the effect of a nice smooth, thin layer of paint, with none of the mess. They dry very quickly, especially when you don't press down too hard. They're sheer, so they're great for adding art to something when you still want to see what's underneath. But you can press harder or do layers after one dries to make them more opaque. I really love using these for like Bible art journaling, or adding pretty highlights in a BUJO. And my five-year-old has a great time creating with these and not making a mess.

I purchase this because I've seen my nephews using them but different brand. The colors are vibrant and they dry fast. My kid like them. Since this is a gift for my kid. So I haven't opened it yet. I will update aftet I open it. They look good. The packaging is nice and sturdy.

Works great for toddlers! No mess and its easy to remove off surfaces. They do dry out if the cap is not on but just cut the tip thats dry and its fixed. I will say that they easily run out since kids sometimes put pressure when using them
