Appalling"Fable"!
I am so sad to have wasted over two hours of my precious time watching this horrible film. I grew up admiring Diana Princess of Wales with no idea of her struggles. I now know all of the public details of her sad situation, but I also know that she was a strong, caring, compassionate soul who was a great force for good. She was certainly not the insane, weak, crazy person depict in this poorly produced piece of Hollywood garbage. And just for the record, she didn't have a homosexual dresser! I know that "the powers that be" want every deceased public figure who can no longer defend themselves to be exposed as gay or at the very least bi-sexual, but I'm sorry to inform Hollywood the this was not they case with Diana.Aside for a completely untrue plot line, it is filmed in a completely unrealistic and idotic style, with multiple stupid, overly dramatic and unrealistic fantasy scenes. I ended up fast forwarding through a lot of the second half with subtitles on.I should have listened to the other reviewers! If you have any affection for the late princess, don't watch this film or waste you money. It is appalling!

One of the worst movies
Would give it 0 stars if that was available. This movie is horrible, the acting is over the top and the whole premise makes me wonder why anyone would make this movie. Professional reviews were gushing over it, but the real people were wondering how. It is overacted, Kristen Stewart is horrible and mumbles most of the way through, the other actors are minor characters and looks like they wondering how they got into this movie.I did not purchase or pay a rental fee; borrowed from a library, so my only saving grace is that it cost me nothing.Do not waste your time or money - it is just awful.

Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing
As a fan of the royal family and especially Princess Diana, I couldn't wait to watch this movie. Sure wish I had read the reviews as it was nothing like what I was expecting or anything I've ever seen in any movie royal family or not. This is a dark, strange movie that didn't make any sense. It made Diana out to be some psycho who pukes all the time. Kristen Stewart did a good job although I couldn't always hear or understand what she was saying. I am surprised I didn't have nightmares after watching Spencer! I also wish I had rented it instead of buying the movie! What a waste!

Surprisingly good film!
It all depends on you expectations and taste of course. I am not usually all that interested in biografical movies. The film tells a nuanced story of a woman who has a very hard time fitting in with her new family. It is very well directed and features a great cast led by Kristen Steward. Never mind if it really happened exactly like this, it a captivating story told in great detail with love for each character. And I never saw Sally Hawkins quite like this before or since.

Masterpiece
It’s not a usual biopic. It’s art focused on few nightmare’s royal days, and it’s a masterpiece.

Majestic and outstanding.
The movie is an art house drama. People need to understand there’s no exact, obvious storyline (there is an indiscreet one!!!).The movie captures desperation and sadness we can only imagine feeling the way Lady D has felt it.It was beautifully shot, Kristen Stewart’s accent is literally spot on. No wonder Diana’s actual Chef said her acting was the closest he's experienced.Kristen is amazing, so are all other actors. Costumes are outstanding, the Score is beautiful. It’s such a cold, emotional drama that you need to watch!

Already on DVD
For some reason I just wanted the Blu-Ray version of this movie. I just love it. Maybe I should review my original purchase. It's all about Kristen Stewart! An enigma for me.
