Q: Is it water resistant

Used it in the rain. Don't know if it would float if you dropped it in the water. Ended up giving it away and going back to the little black Strike Alert. It was all I needed.

Q: In the description it stated that it takes aa batteries while in the information section it stated that it takes aaa batteries, so, which size?

it takes 2 AA batteries. im actually in the process of buying a different lightning detector the one i am after will record the strike and tell me how far it is away from me and tell me if its going away or coming to me its very important cause i will be taking pics of lightning i got struck by lightning in 2011 and in 2017 got buzzed while on computer stay safe
