Danco 88820 2 in. Mesh Bathroom Lavatory Sink Strainer, Stainless Steel

I got this for my tub, which had one of those pop-up drains. We would get hair build-up & clogs, because there was nothing much to prevent hair from washing down the drain.I unscrewed the pop-up drain, and am storing it away, and using this now. We mostly take showers & don’t often need to stop up the drain.-This fit nicely, flush against the tub drain.-Doesn’t get knocked out of place.-Catches all the hair. (Long hair and even small stuff like cat hair & fuzz.)-Easy to clean...just scoop out the hair & maybe rinse it each time. So quick & easy.-On the easy to clean note, no silicone to harbor mold growth, like other drain protectors.-I’m not experiencing any water back-up during my showers. Even my thick conditioner doesn’t cause a problem. But I do clean it every shower.-Been using two weeks in a heavy-use bathroom & no sign of rust.I was so impressed, I bought a second one for our other bathroom. I looked at all the different fancy ones, and was willing to pay for something that was just right. But this actually seems the most functional & suited to what I wanted. It does the job very well & is fairly unobtrusive.

I use this in my utility sink where the washing machine drains. It works too good! Catches lint and then the sink drain slow. For small loads, no problem, but for large loads, the sink overflows. I do love that it is catching all that lint though (I do have a lint catcher on the hose too). It is a bit of a hassle to clean so I gave it low marks on that. But it will keep things out of your drain.

My long hair sheds, so I frequently need to declog my drain, which is expensive. This little gadget does collect hair (it remains to be seen if it's catching it all, as it is weightless and maybe some can slide under it?). The only problem is, halfway through my shower and hair wash, I have to turn off the water and wait a while for the water to drain, as it is rising up the tub, and when it's done I remove the hair and start anew. I guess that makes sense considering that the hair catcher is full of hair, so the water can't get through. This leaves me with the choice of either clogging my drain, or standing there wet and cold waiting for the water to recede.

This is a basic bathroom sink strainer. It fits my bathroom perfectly. I'm so relieved that things will not not go down the drain. The stainless steel looks like it will last a while.

Really wanted the large flat rim style but none available in the correct size for laundry tub 2.75" x1.5" center mesh..DO LIKE the fine screen on laundry tub as dirt/sand will be caught much better than the 2mm holes on another style and I have no problem with frequent cleaning of lint. (Bang tiny sand-like rocks and pine needles out on a paper towel first then turn damp twisted paper towel in center to pick up what left when you have pulled out matted lint.)Other problem was packing... The nipple shaped screen was placed in lightly padded envelope and was squashed beyond recognition on arrival... Actually could have been secured inside the sink versions in same envelope and secures the with a small piece of tape ... but it was in end of envelope and FLAT.. The fine mesh is ALMOST ok after some hand remolding . Then went to install in utility tub and it's too small. Think they grabbed the wrong one.

These strainers are great. They are what the maintenance workers in my apartment complex use and recommended to me. The strainer is a practical and reliable solution to make sure my bathroom drain stays clear. This stainless steel strainer is durable and efficient. They strain out sediment and little particles, but the water still flows freely. I will be ordering more of these when the need arises.

Very helpful for the tub. Glad I had gotten one.
