Sound Town Sound Town 8†120W Steel Frame Woofer (Low Frequency Driver), Replacement Woofer for PA/DJ Speakers (STLF-830)

I purchased one of these to replace a blown woofer in an old Marantz 7 MK2 speaker. I needed this speaker to generate a tone of 40 hz at a high power level without distortion. I have also played music through this speaker. Speaker means a tweeter, midrange and this woofer. The music sound great. This woofer looks to have a 5 lb magnet and a nice looking voice coil. The original woofers in these Marantz 7 MK2 speakers were both blown. I did not want to buy two at a time because maybe they weren't as good as the specs. The one worked very well, so I bought another. BTW the Marantz speakers were given away because they had blown woofers. The original woofers were clearly light duty. I recommend these woofers for your replacement needs. I had to use a router on the Marantz speakers because they were made for an 11.5 inch woofer. Go figure on that one. Any way after altering the speaker cabinet and mounting them, I am a very satisfied customer. Also, these were delivered promptly. Sound Town in LA is apparently a good source of audio equipment. I have been burned before with substandard audio parts and equipment and try to give praise where it is warranted. You can be confident of good performance with these rather heavy replacements. Be very careful mounting them. They are quite heavy and you could easily put a finger through the cone lifting them. I did this about 30 years ago and have never forgotten. They are packed very cleverly and well to prevent shipping damage. BTW I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan and have zero connection with Sound Town.

I needed to replace one of my peavey speakers and I took a chance and boy did it pay off this thing pounds! Just like the "Peavey, Black Widow" speaker it replaced. Also looks just like it except it has a slightly smaller magnet. The price is about 1/4 of a black widow! hopefully, it last and if don't ill update this review.

I bought these to replace the factory speakers in my Phonic S710 cabinets. These speakers handle more power then the Phonic speakers and I can tell the frequency range is better as well. I was going to replace my Phonic speakers with 12 inch cabinets. But no need to lug around all that! These are good replacements.

First off, the shipping was incredibly fast (got it 4 days faster than estimated). Put it in a Behringer B212A. This speaker blows the stock speaker (Behringer 12in. $99) away. Compared it to another with stock speaker and there was no comparison. The stock one sounded pathetic in comparison. Guess I'll be getting some more of these, but gonna give it some time to break in.

I was writing a bad review for another product...not this one. It got posted and I couldn't correct it. This speaker was fantastic...at a great price.
