Great product
Very happy with this cold shoe. This Smallrig gear is nice and solid like their other items. It allows me to mount my camera monitor on my Sony a74 and on my DJI gimbal and doesn't come loose like other mounts I have. I love the quick realise clamp. This is a game changer. Recommend it.

Sturdy and well-made
I have another Smallrig product and I am very impressed with the quality of this company's products. This mount is small but it's very strong as it is all metal. It attaches securely and it works very well. The quick-release function makes a big difference and I should have got one sooner.

Okay, but pointless if you're not going to buy other hawklock products
does what it needs to, and does it well, wouldn't recommend it if you aren't going to invest in the other hawklock products

SmallRig HawkLock Review
I have both the NATO and cold shoe versions of the SmallRig HawkLock monitor mounts. The products are very well made and feel solid. I tested my Atoms Ninja V on a shoot with the mount and it works with one small issue.There is a small amount of play between the HawkLock plate and the mount. You can hear it rattling when walking and it made me nervous during my shoot. I was out filming for well over 4 hours and other than the rattling sound; the mount works very well.When I arrived home I cut a small piece of electrical tape and wrapped it around the HawkLock plate. The rattling sound is now gone. I'm unsure how long this fix will last but it will do for now.I would give SmallRig 4 stars for both versions of the HawkLock monitor mounts. It would have been 5 stars without the rattling sound so maybe SmallRig will fix this issue on future designs.

SmallRig Quick release monitor/smartphone
Brilliant. SmallRig are really upping their game. I’ve wanted a hotshoe mount to be able to put my iPhone on my ronin for a while, but found the normal non-quick release ones far too cumbersome. This QR one is so efficient and works really well, it fixes strong and is very secure. A great bit of kit.

Not a particularly thoughtful design.
Smallrig already has a great cold shoe design the which is toolless such as the 2905B, why this doesn't follow the same design is anyone's guess, this design requires tools to loosen and tighten which is plain worse, the actual Quick Release has also become wobbly overtime.
