My parakeet accepted these as her eggs immediately. They are slightly smaller than hers but obviously good enough. Very sturdy since I dropped one on the kitchen floor and it survived without a mark.

We bought these artificial eggs for our budgerigar when she went broody. The real eggs would spoil or break, so having the pretend ones allowed her to set for the incubation time and then they were removed. She got off the 'eggs' and the nest and back to normal. So well designed they may be mistaken for real eggs.

I received the eggs very quickly yesterday, just in time to remove my budgie's newly laid egg and replace it with the 7 dummy eggs. The eggs are perfect, no ridge lines or holes. This morning my budgie emptied some of the dummy eggs from the "nest" and chose one of them to incubate. She is a chronic egg layer but has never incubated any of the eggs she laid, so I am hopeful that incubating will stop the egg laying, at least temporarily. I have invested in Lupron shots and hope that the dummy eggs will help to diminish the shots.

I was encouraged by the directions and a few youtube videos on this product. But my bird simply rejects them and continues to lay eggs. Kind of pricey for small plastic eggs if they do not work as needed.
