Does the job perfectly
With our home theater in one room and the components in a cabinet in another, some way to control it was needed. In the past it was done mostly using the Denon receiver's iPhone app along with the radio remote of the Blu-Ray player but that did nothing to control the other devices in the system such as LaserDisc (!), cassette, DV/miniDV/VHS deck, digital tuner and others. This little pair of devices solved the problem and made installation even easier by using PoE so no need to supply separate power to each one. Not true PoE of course as these are not Ethernet as such but they do use an Ethernet cable to connect them and send the signal between rooms which we already had in place and unused. If you don't have an Ethernet cable, you'll have to add one or get a different wireless solution.

Value, Quality and EZ install
Great value. It's been installed and working perfectly for about 3 months. It's used to control a video projector about 15 feet high in a meeting hall with a cable about 125 feet long.Fantastic! Note, this device is by-directional. It sends IR Remote signals both ways. That can be really useful. As it says, it only needs to be powered at one end.It worked perfectly on the first try. I made my own CAT 5e cable but pre-made cable will obviously work. I taped the IR "emitter" in place on the projector with Gorilla Tape.I'm very pleased with this product and I will use it again when needed.

will not work with a switch
this uses POE. so you would not be able to use a switch and save on running a cable . basically its point to point . it works but unfortunately itโs not what i was looking for

Didn't see any IR cables on the product description, but they are included.
I bought this and it works, but I saw no evidence of IR cables on the description so I went and bought some unnecessarily. Would have been nice if I could find out exactly what was in the box, then I wouldn't have wasted money buying duplicates. Should have known these would have been included since that's all it does, but I'd been looking at Gefen stuff and they don't provide IR or any other cables.

Awesome
Relocated all my stereo equipment to a closet location and ran a CAT5 cable from there to my living room tv. Installed this little device and now I can control all the equipment from the living room without having to see it sitting out.
