Q: none of the weight/height ranges match me, should I buy for height or weight ? I am 5'8" and 190 lbs

Height. I have the same problem with many clothes as I'm 6'1" 155 lbs. Pants can usually be tightened if they have a drawstring/belt but you can't extend pantlegs. If they have one for your height but a larger weight, I'd recommend that.

Q: What is the best way to wash these pants? Is machine washer & dryer ok?

I washed mine in warm water in a front loading machine, high spin speed, and then hang to dry. Came out fine. I was hoping for a bit of shrinkage, but got none.

Q: I am 5.9 and 172lb (35 waist and 32 insem). What size will be good for me?

I'm 5'9 currently 190 lb 34 in waist, went with large and they are perfect, not too baggy not too tight. Were good over somewhat thicker tights in 32° snowy weather with no wind.

Q: would be these pants too hot if I wear them in the summer?

Yes very much so. I wear these when I ride when it is below 40 degrees. I ski in them as well as my other layer. With running tights under them they are warm to about 0 F.
