Better taste, more convenient packaging
I tried this after going through the non-flavored one. These are more convenient to carry because they only fill 8 ounces of water, not a liter. I guess it does wind up being more expensive but the flavor and the convenience are worth it for me right now. I’m so much more likely to add one of these to a glass of water than I was to find a liter or use half a packet at a time. The flavor is more palatable too. In the future, I might get some powdered lemon flavoring to add to the traditional ones and save some money.Anyway, these are great. They hydrate right away. You can feel the impact. They have everything you need, and nothing you don’t. No more dosing sugar just to get your electrolytes. I think they’re reasonably priced compared to full bottles of liquid, and they would be easy to bring and carry-on luggage for a flight. There are so many uses and I’ve added them to my first aid kit.

An essential for basically everyone
The essential - made slightly tastier. This is not gatorade...it's not sweet-sweet. It's mildly sweetened and mildly flavored. Note that the flavored ones are a bit of a gimmick...they're only good for ~8 ounces rather than 1 liter for the non-flavored. Good for kids, but I don't mind the non-flavored stuff at all. This is where sports nutrition should be at...low sugar, low carb. This stuff is a lifesaver (literally, in certain cases). It has a passable, slightly salty taste with no sweetness at all - it's all about getting what your nerves and muscles need to be healthy and in top shape. To that end, it works perfectly for a variety of purposes from cycling/running to treating nausea/vomiting/diarrhea. I literally don't leave the house without a few packets in my bag.Personal testament: While in South Africa, I went to a brai in Kreiger with some friends and the next day went down with the worst case of food poisoning in my life. I'm talking eye-watering, nearly black-out nauseous, full stupor, looks like a movie where a character has been poisoned by assassin unknown, thought I might actually die in South Africa stuff... I combined Trioral with DiaResQ and eventually some protein powder and was able to skip the hospital visit or worse. This stuff works.

Was great, now disgusting
Update: We have been using Trioral lemon for 6 years now and it has been great. However, the past several boxes have been undrinkable. The flavor is now extremely bitter. Not sure if there were defective batches or if their formulation or flavoring changed but we are now going to have to find a different product to fill this need.Works extremely well in our experience. We originally bought this to try out for a trip where it wouldn't be practical to lug around a case or more of Gatorade. However, we now also keep this in our house instead of Gatorade. We normally stock Gatorade because the better half can easily get dehydrated and we've taken her to the ER a couple of times over the years due to severe dehydration. Trioral works better without all the sugar of regular Gatorade or the heavily artificially sweetened flavor of G2. Trioral does contain some dextrose to aid in rehydration but it is much less than regular Gatorade -- ~4g in 8 oz versus 21g in 12 oz.We find the lemon flavor helps but it still ends up tasing like a saline solution with lemon which shouldn't be surprising. Packages are difficult to open without scissors even though they are notched. Lemon is quite a bit more expensive than the regular Trioral but we're willing to pay the difference for convenience as otherwise we would have to also pack flavoring for travel.

good to combat dehydration due to traveler's diarrhea
When traveling, I've gotten some kind of food poisoning or other infection several times. The resulting vomitting and diarrhea can cause dehydration and more severe problems. So, I bring these little packets and use them for electrolyte replacement if I get sick. The taste isn't great, but it works. This formula is the one approved by WHO.

Taste is just ok, box was raggedy
Arrived in a dirty box that looked like it had been riding around on the floor of a car for a while. Taste is just okay. Would prefer Gatorade or Pedialyte over this product for taste and for price.

Great for travel
I looked on amazon for oral rehydration salts that I can bring in case we get sick while traveling. I purposely did not get the one that mixes into 1L as I felt that 1L would be difficult to find/carry. This one mixes into 8 fl oz. I wanted one slightly flavored so my kids would be willing to drink it. This is sweetened with Stevia and it's made in the US. It also followed the WHO formula. I ordered it 10/2018 and it expires 1/2021.

Live saver after gym crash
I know it's wrong but things happen. Went to the beach and didn't feel the heat due to the wind. Didn't hydrate the whole afternoon but had coffee and went to the gym. Workout went great but after 20 mins got really dizzy and stopped. Had a full blown crash. Came back home and literally guzzled down 40oz of water and added 3 glasses with the trioral each. Kept drinking water throughout the evening and felt better after 3h. I keep this near my gym bag now and have used it for travel and after drinking before. Highly recommend it, needs to be part of a first aid kit.
