I was going to say it’s a great product and it’s high quality, but that sounds to auto generated. So, this thing is a beast! Very high quality materials. The lock it self is kind of bulky but when you want security and quality can’t complain in the other departments.

I purchased this lock to install in a new trailer hitch. It's a heavy duty lock that is well constructed and a great design; it's expensive but is a quality build. The rubber boot that protects the lock's key mechanism is of good quality and fits snugly enough to prevent the ingress of water and debris that could damage the lock. My only concern is the area where the locking head surrounds the lock's hitch pin. I am uncertain how that will handle water and could create problems after time. My intention is to purchase a few appropriately sized rubber O-rings at the hardware store and place them onto the stainless steel hitch pin to keep out or minimize water entry. I took off one star for "waterproof" in my review. If you have the money, I would definitely encourage you to purchase this lock.

I looked at tons of other locks that used a backup pin in addition to the lock to secure the hitch. This one was the only one I found where the hitch pin was solid from one piece. There are cheaper ones but this is the only one I found that makes me feel confident it will perform well in all situations.

Very well made device overall with great features. I like the lock being of a "push to lock" design, this very clearly indicates if it is locked or not. The rubber cap is very thick and tall, so I can see that it will stay on and will cover the lock and key hole from the elements (had this issue with other locking bolts, actually always taped the cap to the body with ducttape , don't think I will need to do it here). Like how the safety pin locks the bolt without having to drill though it, nice enineering.One item I would improve on is having a o-ring between the bolt and body of the lock, to create a better weather seal and minimize amount of mosture getting in. Will find a fitting o-ring and try it + having some low temperature capable grease should prevent moisture getting in to the lock completely.

I have owned dozens of hitch locks. Some touting to be the best. They have all failed in way or another. This is the first one that I have had that looks like it will outlast them all. It is all Stainless and the cap is a robust rubber cap that should stay on and not fall apart like most others. The last one I owned made by Master was supposed to be Stainless and it locked up tight after being in Salt water once. I had to cut it off with a Sawzall. I was surprised how easy it was to cut. So much for being Master Tough. This one is designed in a way that I hope I never have to cut because it will be tough to do.

I had to switch to a 2.5” hitch pin for a new truck and this fit perfectly. The build quality seems superior, lock is positive and uses a unique strong key. While I like the secondary clip, I wish it went through the middle of the full diameter pin, thus the 4 star (though in reality, most, but not all, of these locking hitch pins do not.) I have read accounts of the pin on other brands breaking where they narrow down for the lock and clip. So it’s not my “ultimate” locking hitch pin, but after reviewing most all of them out there, I think this one is probably the best for me. Yes, all of these locking pins have a bulky locking mechanism that may interfere with your safety chain hooks. Just get some safety chain coupling links (aka shackles) and be done with it.
