Perfect for Wall-mount Solar Connection
I have a portable solar setup that we use with our RV, and the cheap wall-mount SAE port that I started with wore out in less than a year. This thing is a huge improvement. The construction is mostly metal and makes a super solid connection every time. I used some 8AWG stranded marine wire and wire sleeving to make a custom extension cord with the plug in this kit on one end, and MC4 connectors for the panels on the other. It works perfectly, and while I won't ever get close to the 50A rated capacity, this should last a lot longer than the port I started with. The price is steep, but worth it for something I won't have to bother with again for a while.

Bit pricy but very high quality & worth every penny
By no means the cheapest option for connecting my camper’s ground-mounted solar array but one of the only quality built ones capable of safely handling up to 50A AND accept over 6AWG cable. Amazing how many cheap “50A” connectors there are out there that won’t accept anything larger than 10AWG, which is dangerous and a fire hazard at best. I am all about saving a dollar where it makes sense but when it comes to something that can hurt you or your family, it’s worth the investment… buy once-cry once. Highly recommend the product.

This was exactly what I was looking for.
I needed a connector for 56V at 25amps to charger for some LFP batteries in a solar power system. This worked perfectly. It can handle 8-10AWG wire and the pins have no problem staying cool while passing 1400 watts through them. The snap in connector feels really good and fit perfectly. My only negative is that they do not give you an allen Key to tighten down the wire lugs. Luckily I had a set and one in the set that fit.

Not what 50 amps look like
No way this is for 50 amp there is barley enough space for a 14 awg wire and it has only about 1/8 of a inch to do that connection. The other reviews show screw terminals this did not have that. Not what I wanted or expect

Solid Connector
I bought this connector because I don't skimp on amp ratings. I won't ever put 50 amps through this, but I didn't want to take a chance on some cheap product that was rated for more than it could actually handle. This was installed on the front of my RV toy hauler. I wanted something that was different from the PV port that was already there. That way no mistakes could be made by plugging the wrong thing in.I put ferrules on stranded 8 gauge wire and then heat shrink tubing (with adhesive) over the collar of the ferrule. If you're in a mobile environment, don't count on bare stranded wires staying tight. The wires with ferrules fit nicely into the terminals.I used stainless steel hardware (#4 as I recall). On the backside I added a sheath of heat shrink tubing (normally used for 2/0 cable) for strain relief and to keep water out. I used full heat on the wire section for a tight shrink. On the connector part (where the set screws are) I used a very gentle heat to pull the heat shrink tubing in, but not as tight, just in case I needed to remove the wires to reverse the polarity.A few inches back from the connector, I used cable ties to secure the cables for additional strain relief.Inside the trailer the 8 gauge wire goes to a dual pole DC 32 amp circuit breaker. I use the circuit breaker to turn off power to the outlet. My little nephews are notorious for poking things in where they don't belong. No power = safety.Initially, I'll be running a water transfer pump off of this outlet.Customer Service was very responsive when I found that one of the set screws was missing. I am very satisfied with this product.
