Professional Black Sandalwood Sandalwood Chinese Flute Dizi － With USA- Based Warranty

I placed the order for this flute at the end of March and it arrived to Finland on April the 20th, slightly ahead of the anticipated earliest date, which was a very nice surprise at the current situation.The flute is beautifully made and carefully finished. At quick inspection upon arrival I had a (wrong) impression that the decorative horn pieces at the head and tail of the flute were missing and I contacted the seller through email; they called me less than half an hour later and, very friendly, corrected my mistake by pointing out that unlike in the images with white pieces, the decorative pieces on my flute were of black water buffalo horn. And that was indeed the case, I had just not been able to tell them apart from the dark wood in the low light. A+ customer service :).It has been a very long time since I've played any kind of flute, and never a dizi. But after getting acquainted with my flute for almost two weeks now, learning to blow it correctly and getting my fingers used to it, I'm starting to be able to hit most of the notes and play little, simple tunes. The tone of flute is beautiful, full and rich. I've mostly been using a piece of tape over the membrane hole and only affixed the dimo a couple of days ago; it was easy to do, but I still have to experiment further to get the tightness and the resonation just right. I also noticed that the dimo requires a bit more gentle blowing than the tape, perhaps, but getting the high notes is easier... I'll keep practicing :).All in all, I'm very glad I decided to go for this. This lovely flute and learning to play it (for my own pleasure) will be a joy for years to come.
