Arrived new with crack UPDATE The company honored the warranty and replaced the flawed board
Update 2/24/23 I contacted Dalstrong and received excellent customer service. They honored the warranty and replaced the board with one without cracks. I understand that wood is a natural material and these types of flaws will occur. I was very pleased with how Dalstrong handled the situation. I will feel comfortable buying from them again in the future.Original *** star review: I have been a happy purchaser of quite a few Dalstrong products at this point. I have always been very pleased with the quality and felt they were all great values. These past experiences let me to make a major purchase of the XL cutting board. I was nervous at many pictures of cracks in the board in the reviews, but when I looked at the description for the board I was comforted when I read the item's last bullet point: "Dalstrong Trust: Rock-solid 100% SATISFACTION OR MONEY BACK GUARANTEE, try it risk free. LIFETIME WARRANTY against defect." So reassured by the warranty offer I took the plunge. I am very sad to say that my board did arrive with a major crack that I show in photos. I am also sure that this crack will most likely get much worse as time goes by. I am planning to contact Dalstrong and will see if they stand by the product as promised. I will update this review after I see how the company deals with the problem. As of now, I feel a need to warn people to beware of cracks. If they stand by the warranty, I will let you know that too.

Beautiful, durable, heavy duty, & smooth
Boxed beautifully, not one visual flaw, shaped up, oiled, then waxed. I saw a few comments about "wood splitting" so if I do experience this & I do maintain it properly I'll definitely be updating here but so far it's flawless!. Make sure to clean, oil, & wax your board for extra prevention of scaring, staining, & splitting

quality item
It's a monster in size and is really great. Heavy and solid, seems very well-built.The only critique (and it's a small thing) is the dowel plug that covers the screw that holds the metal rod handles in place. This plug is a light tan and not teak, and it stands out as being different than the teak wood. It may even be a colored epoxy. Two of them were not sanded down flush against board either and you can feel the edge. Other than that, it is a very fine cutting board.

Very serious butcher block.
I like the size and weight of this cutting board. When I got mine it started to crack right away. I emailed Dalstrong about it. They wanted pictures but they sent me a replacement with no hassle. The replacement arrived in good shape and I quickly oiled it up. I’m very happy with this product and company.

Terrible Craftsmanship
I absolutely loved this cutting board when i first got it a month ago! A week after i received it the big crack showed up and then 2 weeks ago the small one. I never dropped it or let it sit in the sink,,, after use i washed it and dried it immediately. Other than the fact that its cracked and the juices of what im cutting run all over my counter its a nice looking piece. I would send it back but evrybody knows what kind of hassle that can be!!!!

Massive!
I got the extra large version. And it is certainly extra large...it covers most of my five-burner stove top. Very thick, like a butcher block, and it weighs more than 30 pounds. The brown box that was delivered was destroyed, but the Dalstrong box and packaging was pristine and the cutting board was undamaged. This monster is larger than I expected, but that's okay. I leave it on the counter and it's now the focal point of the kitchen. I oiled it up and it didn't absorb much, compared to my other wooden cutting boards. That surprised me. Cheap boards will soak up oil for several days. There were a couple of spots that had glue from the manufacturing process, but I sanded that off with some 600 grit sandpaper...I didn't mind, for the quality and price. I'll probably get the smaller version, because this is the best cutting board I've ever had, and I have a lot of cutting boards. If you are on the fence about buying it, go ahead and pull the trigger. You won't be disappointed!

This thing is a beast
I ordered this because it was on sale and the size was what I was looking for. Big enough for a whole brisket.if I had one suggestion it would be for a juice channel as it is flat so juices run over when you have a big ol juicy brisket on the board. it weights probably 20-25 pounds and is less work than I though a wood board would be. it cleans up quick and some coconut oil and she is shiny and ready to go. No issue with it falling apart or drying out just keep it oiled up. plus it is beautiful wood and I leave it on our island so we have used it a ton. I have had it for about 2 years now and its better than when I got it worth the money for sure

Gorgeous at a glance, flawed up close.
First off - great looking board, super sturdy, and a great addition to my kitchen. I love the brushed steel handles and the cutaway underneath that makes scooping off the board super easy. HOWEVER ... considering the cost I felt I should leave a review that reflects it.I would have expected this board be _flawless_ for the price, however I had to spend time leveling it because it was wobbly (on a marble counter) and also there were at least 2 places I had to fill gaps where the glue didn't completely fill the space. Gaps wide enough to put your fingernail in - certainly not sanitary. I used a hardwood floor repair stick, dark wax, seemed to work well enough. In addition to that, the wood is VERY soft. After only a few weeks there is *already* a dent in the board from where something was dropped on it. My old board, several years old, has zero indents. So overall it's a great board but way over priced for the actual quality you receive. Still continue to be a Dalstrong fan, just wish this pricey board was a little higher grade like their knives are.
