Kingston ValueRAM 2GB 667MHz DDR2 Non-ECC CL5 DIMM Desktop Memory

I was very lucky to order this item on sale for $19.95, on February 28th. I choose standard US mail delivery, and was given a delivery estimate of March 8th. Well, I received it on March 3rd, and installed it with no effort at all. It was instantly recognized, and is working in tandem, with the identical module, which I installed in my first self built computer. This RAM has always performed flawlessly, and for twenty bucks, less than a quarter of the cost to fill up my van, you simply cannot go wrong. I have used Kingston for a number of years, and could not be more satisfied. For everyone who is chugging along with 256 MB or 512 MB, this is the cheapest way to increase the performance of your computer. Do a little research on this item. I did. I could have driven to a local national electronics chain store, who shall go unnamed, and the same item was almost $90.00. The order process was quick and easy. I installed these on a Intel D946GZIS motherboard (2 x 2GB) and they worked perfectly. For the price this is one of the better values out there - these were some of the lowest priced DRAMS I could find for a 2gb module.Kingston makes reliable DRAM, I have purchased their products many times in the past, and they stand behind their products as well. If you need support, and call them, someone answers the phone and is typically located here in the states - which says a lot for today's tech company support experiences! I had a question about compatibility of this module, and when I called Kingston I got a real person who had a real answer very quickly. This is probably the fourth time in the last five years I have had a positive experience with Kingston support. (four out of four).I recommend these to anyone looking, as long as you check the compatibility with your system and they are the right ones!Thanks for reading.

This is a commodity product and without sophisticated test gear it's impossible to evaluate its finer points, if it has any. I plugged it in and it works.My only niggle, and it's really my lack of experience, was that I did not notice at first the notches in the ends where the hold fast clips go (this memory is taller than the "standard" size I had in already). A brief installation note would have helped.

Added to a Dell D9150, with other RAM present: 2x512MB and 1x1GB SIMM.Don't forget if your are upgrading and adding to a system with slower RAM: (I forgot the customary issue at first).This SIMM was faster than the other memory on board, and when placed in the slot 1 (2nd slot), system would not boot. Easy fix: I moved it to slot 0 (1st slot) and moved the original 1GB slower speed to slot 1, the system booted fine.

I have a 64-bit Vista machine with 2Gigs of ddr2-533 ram and a Pentium-D 3.6Ghz and Wanted to (max) out my motherboard's memory to really push it for another year or so. This memory was received one day after ordering it even though I paid for 2 day! I removed the old ddr2-533 ram and replaced it with the 4Gb of ddr-2-667 and right away the motherboard recognized it and adjusted the memory speed from 533 to 667 and am now in dual-channel mode. Vista, ever so cpu and memory hungry seems to be happy as well. Thumbs up!
