I had a sherpa hat that was very special, not because of a gift for a special occasion, not who bought it (self), not Christmas, for the people or many external reasons we make something more than it is. Don't even recall how long had it 10 years, perhaps more. When went to the closet as the seasons turned the temperature cold cold not find my special hat. It wasn't in its usual place in the outer left packet of the really cold weather winter jacket.This was devastating. Not only was it special, but it fit the head perfectly and felt warm and cozy. Broken in like a well worn pair of jeans. Crazy to say about a hat, right? But it was. It was perfect from the way it felt to the way it looked.Tried to replace it, but nothing felt or looked right. This was the last attempt as I thought the well loved, well worn, comfy cozy sherpa hat was gone forever. Even found a different style of hat that's extremely comfortable and fits right to "replace" it (reviewed separately here on Amazon).This was the last chance.It doesn't look like old faithful. A lot brighter - certainly more white - than what I had (could compare easily as say the loved one in a pic). But the design truly is beautiful. The chord down the side, and the strings at the bottom, are wrapped tight and match perfectly. It's a striking design. Truly authentic look. The inside is lined, the loved one wasn't but still felt great. This lining slips over your head and is so soft. I you have no hair or limited hair on your head as some of us do this is a huge deal. Not only does this add a layer of warmth but oozes comfort against your skin. The outer layer pulls easily and snugly around your head. It's a firm but not tight fit. When you put it on you know you're wearing the hat. And your ears are covered - warm and comfortable.It's not a new beloved hat, yet. But after several chilly seasons (again, if you're bald or lost most of your head it starts getting colder sooner) I expect this to be a new beloved hat. Not a second or mere replacement. A new had that I look forward to pulling on as the temperature drops.[And yes, another hat was bought and kept. But always felt there were certain situations that called for something less "showy"/more toned down than my well loved sherpa. So bought a much more neutral, "stylish" cold weather hat. And while this sherpa will go in the outer left pocket, same place as before, the new one easily fits in either inner pocket of the coat. So always will have the best hats with me.]Don’t know why anyone would say it has a smell. There is no smell. None. If these fabrics normally “smell” then it smells like them, which is no smell

Love this so much, very soft inner liner and vibrant colors. It fits very well, not too loose, not too tight. Very warm and the colors are awesome. Sent fast and great price, my ears are WARM now, and looking pretty snappy too!

Since my puppy ate my old hat, my head was freezing at the windswept dog park. The hood of my parka just wasn't making it so, I came upon this hat and boy, so glad I purchased it. It s incredibly warm (I'm always cold), and the fleece lining is very soft with no itching. Tying the ties makes it extra warm which i haven't had to do so much. Some hats you want to rip off as soon as you walk in the door but not this one. It seems to mold to my head and very comfortable. I support native artisans and fair wages especially for women so from what i gleaned is that this hat is made from local wool by local women weavers who are paid a fair wage and not a sweatshop. I hope I'm not wrong. Lastly, I have always looked terrible in hats and now I have the braids I never had LOL. Just a great hat !!
