I love them! Reminds me of home,
Compared to sailor boy pilot crackers. These are OK for the price still high-priced.

Yummy and salty
When you pop one in your mouth you will swear it taste like a drunk Friday night in the backseat of a Buick behind a dennys if you know what I mean.

Cracker Crumbs
Our house has been a fan of Pilot Bread for many years. Got started using it up in the Alaskan bush in the 80's and it's been a staple of our cupboard ever since. Purchased a couple cans of this brand thinking it would arrive in even better shape than the old boxes. Disappointed to learn the crackers do not fare well in shipping. Opened the Amazon box & enclosed can expecting to find an old friend, only to discover a can of very expensive & useless cracker crumbs. Would strongly discourage anyone from purchasing this item if they're expecting whole, unbroken crackers.

Good product
Interesting product. Purchased as an experiment. Well made and sealed perfectly.

Disappointing
I was looking for Sea Pilot water crackers. I thought these were it, but these lack any real flavor. They arrived in a closed tin can. A couple of them were just broken pieces and bits. There was a lot of cracker dust at the bottom. They are hard to the bite (the Sea Pilots are medium al dente), and these are inexplicably expensive for flour, salt and water. The only grounds for recommendation is if you are a prepper and are looking to store foods that will last up to 25 years.

A taste of history
I read somewhere that the settlers of the Oregon Trail lived off these things as well as whatever else they could catch. That made me curious to find out a little more about them. Not bad, but I'm sure that too much of anything is too much. I'm not suggesting to go out and catch wildlife, but taste a little bit of history for yourself. It's not exactly the same, but close.

Comes in a nice can
This is for my SIL Santa gift. He was a merchant marine. In the can it lasts 30 years. He should love it. We used to get “hardtack” in San Francisco when I was a child. It was used by miners in the mines.
