I found this guide on creating a research paper to be straightforward without overly technical or complicated language. I also like how it's brief and to the point.

This isn't a book; it's a sparsely-written pamphlet. For some reason, I thought that it was 167 pages. No, it's 44 pages. (my bad.) My copy was also defective because the binding covers part of the text on every page. I've never seen that in a published book before. Great title, great cover, less content in the entire book than one chapter of "A Manual For Writers" by Turabian. (I strongly suggest you buy instead.)

This is a great book as a refresher or needing help organizing your paper. Very straightforward. I have been out of school for a while and needed to write a paper. I heavily relied on this book to organize my thought and draft them on paper.

Even though I really did not need this book (or so I thought), I purchased it, and I am glad I did. I am using the book while working on my doctorate, and I use it in the classes I teach. The material is very informative and useful.
