Watchmen Hardcover – November 22, 2016

I love everything box-set and the Watchmen series is a classic favorite of mine, so I was pretty excited to get this copy. Great box set, the design work on the covers and box are absolutely breathtaking. The Doomsday clock on the back of each book turns as you progress in book number and the blood on the back kinda drips down. Just a gorgeous set overall and of course the comic itself is great.

This format, 12 slim hardcovers in a slip-case, beats Absolute Watchmen. Like the same format on the new edition of The Dark Knight Returns, it flat-out rocks for readability. More DC, more. I also recommend Absolute Batman Year One, with its two paper styles: one pulp; one glossy. Ignore the detractors, please.For the few who seem to have enjoyed this format, one of a few experiemental formats DC has engaged in, thank you for chiming in. The anger over the oft-noted minor changes is unsettling - an outrage oft-reserved for so many of the world's grand tragedies.Moore and Watchmen - will survive; that is what matters... they are big enough for some experimental book design. I highly doubt Mr. Moor or Mr. Gibbons weeps over this matter.(Extras - one could even complain about their presence, that they rob the 'magic,' but so few do.) Ah well, I mean no enmity to those who so shrilly despise this tinkering - those slim bindings of each book, well, it's so pleasant.Peace to all!

Full sized like the OG comics, with the rescanned art on nice thick paper mmmm it doesn't have any of the extras included with the Deluxe and Absolute editions but who needs 'em, that's what the library is for.

When I preordered this, it had a much different look that I like better. Other than that, it's a great product. I'm just not sure why they changed the look so much.

I got this for my boyfriend and he teared up. He loved everything about it. It came well packaged and no damage whatsoever.

the original design promised a seemingly bigger, textbook spine look, but all things aside it's still got its own feel and it is still watchmen. i just don't appreciate the bait and switch of it all.
