Fantastic seal!!
We were given an old smoker with absolutely no seal. We used it not realizing there was no seal and smoke was pouring out everywhere and it was almost impossible to keep the temperature. We purchased this and crossed our fingers and let me tell you this stuff works beautifully!! It was a very simple process and only took us about an hour because we had to disassemble some of the smoker and put it back together. We are using it for the first time since sealing it. Not a single bit of smoke has been seen except for where it should be coming from. AND the temperature has regulated perfectly.

Good kit, gasket is long enough for a Brinkmann w/offset fire box
I have a Brinkmann with offset firebox. So far I have only installed the gasket in both apertures (main cooking chamber and fire box). The length provided in the kit is long enough to cover both openings and you are left with 30 inches of unused gasket. The smoke leakage has been reduced significantly. I can control the temperature (by closing the vents and chimney) much better now.It sill needs silicone in certain areas of the main chamber, I will update the review once I have applied it.

It helped but not amazing
It’s a good product and it cut the smoke leaking out by about 50%. If I would have taken more time I could have done better but it’s whatever

A decent-enough product, but it leaves something to be desired on my grill.
I have a Smokey Joe offset grill and there's constantly smoke leaking when doing any smoking. I was losing temperature rapidly, so I went with a sealer for the perimeter. This did PART of the job, as it's rather thick (it should be) and interrupted the closing of the lid. With a bit of weight and some careful alterations, I got it to work, but I wish it were a BIT thinner/softer to close the gap.

The rtv works fine. Turned black after the first time I used my smoker. The gasket on the other hand is complete garbage. Never had my smoker over 350 and the gasket and the adhesive holding the gasket deteriorated and disintegrated. Even on places on smoker that gets just smoke. Atleast the roll was enough to replace a couple of times. Would not buy again
