Best Dac I ever Heard
This is a great Dac. Made my music collection new again. Finally something that sounded better than my upgraded CD players. I had no problems with the usb driver. I’m using windows 8.1 with the oldest usb driver they had available.

Extremely disappointed
Received the DAC quickly and connected to my preamp. Immediately I can hear that something was off with the sound, so I decided to connect it to my oscilloscope and see what's going on. 12bit Oscilloscope showed that a lot of noise is being generated by the device giving it a dynamic range of 50db!!!!! It's advertised at -119dB. tHE Noise is all over the spectrum (1.7k, 5.4k, 9.8k, etc, etc. etc). The noise amplitude also increases with frequency. Even when there is not signal going to the DAC, the noise is still there. Upon disconnecting USB (which has a regulated power supply), the NOISE IS STILL THERE. At first I thought that something is wrong with my oscilloscope, so I tried 3 other DACs (from Schiit to RME), all tested perfectly. Extremely disappointed with the quality of the DAC.

Great Component
Great product I notice a revealing difference from having a separate DAC & Transport compared to a CD player immediately. I listened to several CD's that I hadn't listen to in a while; nevertheless, knowing those recordings it was clear the sonic difference very revealing. I know there will be many more hour of listening but like to say so far I'm pretty satisfied after roughly 5 weeks of listening.

Incredible sound, for the money you can't go wrong! Moves my soul!!!
Was using a NAD C700 as a preamp / dac. This romped on it in every way.

Beware, you'll wonder what the higher up Denefrips sound like if this one sounds as good as it does.

Best DAC I've every heard
I didn't buy this on Amazon but thought it deserves a review. I own several dac's including A Gustard dac-x22 and Topping d70 and the denafrips ares II is to my ears much better. It is very analog sounding with a great sound stage. It's the closest thing I've heard to vinyl on a high quality turntable. After hearing R2R I can never go back.

Great sounding dac, worth the wait. Comes in on the slow boat from China.
