Easy to carry aroung and surprisingly good!

This item is very nice. It has a lid that comes off and fits to the bottom making a larger gripping area. When I first used it, being new it felt like the blade dragged. After a couple of uses it is very smooth and sharpens nicely. I like the size, fits in my pack.

This item is well made and does the jobs it is intended to do. Designed to be useful for sharpening fishing hooks (long thin groove), and small pointy tools (small continuous grit section) in addition to knives and other edged tools. I sharpened some fishing hooks and a bait knife easily and effectively in no time at all (actually be careful not to apply too much pressure while sharpening because the diamonds cut aggressively -- right out of the box at least). In the hope that lubrication is not needed for sharpening with this item, I purposefully used it dry. I can report that it sharpened the hooks and knife just fine used dry.Would've given 5-stars for it's usefulness but deducted one star because the cover is annoyingly difficult to remove (it is also difficult to separate when the cover is inserted on the bottom as a base). Hopefully, the cover will loosen up a bit over time.I recommend this product to anyone needing a fast-cutting, portable sharpener. Hope this review is helpful.

I do recommend using one of Smith's Pocket Pal Sharpeners for out in the field use, tackle box, etc, and recommend this stone for your knifes final sharp edge. I like these because they do the job well and won't cost you an arm and a leg. They are compact, easy to carry, easy to hold and not bulky like a lot of other larger stones. The perfect tool if your in the woods and need to utilize space. I have found by using a small amount of honing oil on this stone it will last you a long time. Also it is one of the best sharpeners for fishing hooks..

This little stone works quite well. I have used an Arkansas for years and recently bought the Work Sharp pocket sharpened combo sharpener. That was a step up in sharpening for me. I'm not any kind of sharpening expert at all. Now that i have this little diamond sharpening stone, I'm able to improve the sharpness of most all of my EDCs. About a dozen of them. I'm very happy with this purchase. Slicing paper and cardboard is more fun than ever!

This is a good tool to keep on your work truck. It is a little small to try and really put an edge on your knife.

Great size, great price! Bought this for our emergency bags so needed something portable but good quality. My husband has large hands (we call him Shrek) so it was important he could use this without slicing up his fingers. You can remove the cover and clip it to the underside of the actual stone piece so it gives you extra holding grip area. He was able to use it with no problem.
