Buschcraft beast
It's everything you could want from a buschcraft knife. Most other more expensive buschcraft knives don't have the size this one has, the price is more than fair too. It doesn't come with that 1/2 inch ferro rod, but it does come with a very nice leather sheath and lanyard. Razor sharp 1095 high carbon steel holds an edge very well.

Beautiful knife with great craftsmanship
I have been searching for a good camp craft/ every day knife for quite some time. This knife has done everything for me and more. Came sharp as ever right from the box and kept its edge longer than I anticipated. Also super easy to sharpen and easy to learn on as well.

Great for batoning!
It arrived packaged well and ready to go. This knife is burly! I would say this might be one of the best knives at this price on Amazon. It feels good in your hand and is a pleasure visually. Based on preliminary tests it should easily handle batoning tasks and making feather sticks. Great spine for use with ferro rod. Keep it clean and dry. I would recommend waxing after use to prevent rust. It IS carbon steel, not stainless.

Good knife, but not 1095 steel
I have used this knife for a while and I like the look, like the edge retention. I haven't had too many issues with hot spots. But, this knife is marketed as 1095 steel. That was one of my criteria when selecting this knife. I use the back of the spine, along with some chert, to start fires using the "flint and steel" method. All 1095 steel will create sparks with chert. This did not. I do my own modifications to the knife to meet my own needs. So, I grind down the spine to create a 90 degree angle for other camp tasks. When I ground down my spine on the belt sander, that didn't even make sparks!! So, that tells me that there is very little carbon content in this knife and therefor cannot be 1095 steel. Good knife, just watch out for the type of steel.
