Best Camping Hammock I've Had
I have tried a friend's Hennessy hammock before, and I knew it was great quality, but until I had one of my own to play around with, I had no idea it was THIS great. Hennessy leaves nothing to be desired-- they really have thought of everything.- The Entrance -This was the feature I think I was most excited about. I have used the zip-in camping hammocks before, and I always find myself unable to get in without letting lots of bugs in or making my gear fall out. I'm not a fan of zip-ins, needless to say. This hammock has a really cool sit-in type entrance. There is a velcro slit underneath the hammock that you open, then you simply sit down in the hammock and lift up your legs! The slit closes beneath you, and you are in a comfortable hammock. I think this is a GREAT style for anyone who struggles to get in a regular style hammock because you don't have to climb over the side-- you can hang the hammock plenty high without struggling to get in it. Great for shorter people like me!- The Rain Fly -I'm also a big fan of the rain fly. Many rain flies you buy separately tend to get annoying when you have to tie them onto the tree separately, but this one clips directly on the hammock! The hammock has a little adjustable slider to allow you to adjust the height of the fly. There are two ropes on the sides to allow you to tie down the rain fly flaps far from the hammock, making the rain fly deflect rain away from the hammock.- Snake Skins -This isn't included with the hammock if you purchase from Amazon (it is if you purchase from Hennessy's website), but I have to mention the absolute best idea of Hennessy's yet. They created these little tube-type things that slide on to the ends of your hammock that let you put your hammock away sooooo easily. It takes less than 10 seconds, easy. The first time I used mine, I put one on each end, so when I use the hammock now, I just tie each end to a tree, slide the snake skins toward the rope, and BOOM, my hammock and rain fly are already set up. I cannot express to you how much time this saves. If you are new to hammocks, please take my word for it. It makes it a heck of a lot easier to pack up when you need to hike back to your car.- Quality -The quality of this hammock is simply unparalleled. I am confident this will last me years. I have several friends who have Hennessy hammocks who have used theirs for 5+ years without any wear or tear. I trust them!- Pros -- The really cool sit-in entrance- The easy to install rain fly- Durable and high quality- Works well with snake skins (purchased separately)- The hammock has rope built-in, so you don't have to provide your own- Cons -- The velcro can sometimes stick to your hair when you are trying to get in the hammock. I recommend making sure the hammock is strung high enough so you can comfortably sit in it without having to crouch.- The rope/tree strap is separate, which means having to keep up with the straps separately from the hammock- You have to have somewhere to tie down the sides of the hammock/rain fly, which may not always be possible
